I would so much love to be able to ride the Metro and feel safe. I would go to DTLA more and many other locations. But I just don't feel safe like I do when I use public transportation in cities like London and Paris. I only go in groups on the Metro - never by myself. Way too bad.

I agree. Except during the holiday period, checkout is very easy, especially since they take out the items from the basket for you. Have you ever been to one of the traditional grocery stores right before Thanksgiving or Christmas? TJ's is painful but much less so.

I would estimate that I spend about 80 percent of my food budget at TJ's. Wonderful prices, interesting products, and lots of help on the floor. And they don't just tell you to go to aisle 9. They actually take you there and retrieve the item for you.
