Most big producers don't make single origin coffee. You're comparing apples (small batch single origin coffee) to oranges (large batch blends). I am saying that the small batch producers who make single origin coffee produce blends by combining those very same coffees. I wish you had made this distinction in your article instead of a meaningless generalization.
There are many small batch producers putting out great blends: Cafe Grumpy, Ritual Coffee, Handsome Brothers, Barismo, PT's, 49th Parallel, Counter Culture, Intelligentsia, Plowshares, Gimme! Coffee, Ecco, Stumptown, Phil & Sebastian and many more. They all do Direct Trade and will tell you exactly where their coffee is coming from, down to the specific lot on a specific coffee farm.

I think it's a bit much to say that all blends are bad. If you're getting a blend from a roaster such as Stumptown, Cafe Grumpy, Intelligentsia, Counter Culture or any of the other top quality roasters out there, they're using the same top quality beans that they put into their single origin espresso.

I've been doing PHD for 6 months after 45 years of eating the SAD. I wasn't super overweight, but was gaining every year, 6', 200 lbs. I craved sweets. Six months later I am down to 180. I eat rice and sweet potatoes but don't crave them, never crave sweets, don't think about food all the time like I used to. Try it yourself and see.

Unlike many, I wasn't angry (at least not solely) about the pricing change, I was angry about Netflix's recent blog posts (especially the iOS app one, the pricing one, and the most recent one) which tried to spin bad news as good, didn't tell the truth, patronized their fans/customers and generally assumed we were all stupid.

I used to evangelize the company to others - I had been a die-hard fan since 2003, mostly of their long-tail content, and had bought subscriptions (along with Roku boxes) for many family members. Unlike others, I don't really care if their streaming content is up to date. I love their deep foreign selection. What does bother me is my 1000+ movie ratings gone to waste, separated across two websites. Some of what I like to watch is Japanese animation, but without dubbing. This is mostly impossible on streaming. Having to separately maintain a queue and ratings on two separate websites is a major pain. There are some alternate services for alternative content, and now that Netflix has decided to make me use two separate websites, I'm going to explore them.

I am no longer a die-hard fan. In fact, I'm hanging on for a while as a streaming customer, mostly because of my Roku box, and looking around for alternatives.

So I think you are also missing part of the point about why people are so angry. They feel betrayed about the way they were treated. It's not only about content.

I know what you're saying. And I kind of agree. But if you look at it upside down, the better looking people (theoretically) should have less reason to be neurotic, because conceivably they've had better dating lives, at least on average. Less attractive people could be more neurotic (or psychotic), because they have more reason to cling onto any lifesaving equipment that comes their way.
