The design is different; Xbox One controllers use proprietary wireless tech and not Bluetooth.

The image you're using in this article is not an Xbox One S controller, but rather an Xbox One controller.

This explains how to tell the difference: https://support.xbox.com/en...

Re: We won some Webby Awards, and now you can win a BlackBerry PlayBook!

It'd make my year.

Re: Saisaikiteya Event

Wow!

Congrats on the fancy success and such.

Good luck on giving the presentation, I've recently joined the Speech/Debate team at my school, and I can say that publicly speaking is one of the most nerve-racking (but simultaneously pleasing and fulfilling) things I've ever done. I hope you do well.

Can't wait to have you back.

Re: Why you should use a Mac to study Japanese

Even if very few people *have* them, that doesn't mean that you should use a Mac over one. My HP Tx2500 was 800 bucks with 4GB of RAM, a 320GB HDD, and it's a tablet PC. Tablet Macs *are* available, but for two or three times that much, and sometimes not quite as generously spec'd.

If you were to re-do this article as a comparison between Macs and tablet PCs, it'd come out to a tie if you judged on all the same criteria. But when you throw in the concept that tablet PCs are far cheaper than Macs, they come out on top. :P

P.S.: I'm writing this on a unibody Macbook, and I love it. I was lucky enough to get one for free, and I use it just as much as my HP, but I use the HP for other things that the Mac just can't do, and vice-versa.

Re: Netbook Partitioning

Yeah, his first response when I told him it was free was disbelief, but when I finally explained the whole free as-in-beer and as-in-freedom idea to him, he said something along the lines of, "Well, if it's free, it must suck!" I just shook my head and walked away.

That teacher story is outrageous; I've never seen so many assumptions in one letter. And speaking of prompt commands, there's some kid at my school who thinks I'm a crazy hacker thanks to them. I was working in Terminal for some reason or another, and the kid came by, and was like "WHOOOAAA! Are you a HACKER or something?!"And I just explained it was called Terminal, and it's the interface you don't get to see with GUIs, but all the terminology was too much for him to handle. He just spurted out, "YEAAH! You're a hacker! Oh my god! THAT IS SO COOL!"

Re: Doug Tries Sushi

This is random, I know, but I had to watch Gattaca (the movie) for the first time in black and white, and I thoroughly enjoyed it; it felt like it fit the whole theme of the movie. Watching it again in color, I was actually repulsed; everything looked the wrong color and incredibly overdone/cheesy.

Re: Doug Tries Sushi

Quailman is a good outfit choice for just about *any* party, ever. :D But yes, those musical themes were quite great. Another thing that, oddly enough, remains with me until today, is the memory of some episode where Chalky (THAT took some investigating) is playing basketball or something, and then he's exhausted and he chugged some energy drink. I really liked Chalky, and, being the impressionable kid I was, thought the way he held that drink and chugged it was the coolest thing since ever. And now, whenever I hold a bottle of anything and drink it, I'm reminded of that scene. ...Pretty weird.

I assure you, I handle sushi much better now. I go out for it all the time with my family, and I'm coaxing a few of my best buds to go to an all-you-can-eat bar with me, although the very idea of that makes it sound like it'll be horrible quality.

Re: Netbook Partitioning

Yum, Linux. :]

Although I'd THOUGHT I'd remembered installing Ubuntu via Wubi a long while back, I...apparently didn't, seeing as there's a complete lack of any evidence of me doing so. I'm just doing a nice dual boot, but don't think I've got my whole setup like yours is (thought it looks nice, and I think I'll get into it right after I install and fiddle with the Windows 7 RC).

All I've really done with my Ubuntu install is extensively skinned it like a Mac, and then shown it off in school to some kid who's in love with his Mac and hates my HP tx2500. He had no idea what Linux was, and refused to believe I got it for free. Haha.

Re: Doug Tries Sushi

Mmm, this show was TOO great. I wore underpants on the outside and belts on my head for months after I learned of Quail-man.

I can't believe I was so into a show like this, looking back. D8

But the first time I ate sushi (I think it was octopus, or something equally chewy and hard to break apart); I was EXTREMELY excited and eager and shoved it in my mouth without asking any questions. I chewed for a while, but I couldn't break through the meat so I figured I could just swallow it, 'cause I really wanted to move onto the next piece and try more. But the piece was way larger than I thought, so I ended up almost choking and I ran off to the bathroom and spent most of the meal there dealing with that. Haha.

Re: Japanese Tongue Twisters Lesson 2

Marvelous! I'd already read this a while ago, but I've been so busy I haven't had time to comment. Seriously, though, great.

The first part reminds me of the sentence "Buffalo buffalo Buffalo buffalo buffalo buffalo Buffalo buffalo." Somehow, that works out to be gramatically correct.

And I just miiiight make a video response to the first video, and then this one. Maybe. They'd be my first (self-recorded) videos ever. :D

Re: 2009 Imabari Stimulus Guide

Well, of course you'd say that; it's the nature of superheroes to be humble. xP

In all seriousness, though, yeah, awesome possum that it'll help people out.

Re: 2009 Imabari Stimulus Guide

-Superhero tune!- SuperDeas saves the day, once again. :D

Re: Japanese Tongue Twisters Lesson 1

Oh, so you were still speaking about beer. And that's also why I've always wanted to start blogging. There's an application you can download for your account called "Translator" or something, and it basically has a huge list of which phrases/parts of the UI have been translated, and which haven't. And you can submit a translation you think is good, or vote on translations others have submitted. Highest voted submissions become the official Facebook translation for that particular phrase. After all that, I think some staff skims it all over to make sure it's up to par.

EDIT: Oooh, man, someone beat me to this. I swear I didn't copy Durf. I wrote this whole thing before logging in, and saw his post after doing so. I'm only clicking "Post" because I want to voice my opinion. D: Sorry.

Re: How to Follow Japan-Blogs Like a Pro (Plus Some e-Begging For Your Help)

    Woo! You're awesome.

And so is this site. I stumbled upon you, and now I'm definitely hooked. I've only got a modest 3 or 4 Japan Blogs that I've subscribed to (Mike's Blender being the first, dunno if you've ever heard of that one.) :] Voted for you, and I'll get a few of my friends to do so, as well.

And about that one guy who said something about Emoji on the iPhone: It was originally just for Softbank users, but Jailbroken iPhone users can install a package and have those trillion emoticons, too. I'm pretty sure non-Jailbroken users can also just go into the prefrences file and edit some boolean key to be true, and then any phone that supports Emoji can get display the icons in their texts! :3

Sorry for dorking it out right there... .___.;
