I don't think that's the point, you ignorant ass. But considering that police officers routinely do jobs that I'm sure you yourself would run from, then I think any reasonably intelligent person would understand the need for additional legislation stiffening penalites for assaults on them.

The case involved one juvenile a**hole and one unfortunate bystander.

(Not that I'm going to bat {pun intended} for a New Yorker. They tend to be obnoxious, arrogant pr|cks who deserve to have their heads smashed in with various sporting goods... especially SUV drivers on snowy roads.)
