the website you linked to doesn't talk about any of the guys you mentioned. Did you even look at the site? I named two biggies that are under actual investigation for violating House Ethics Rules.
Do you even have criteria for your list? what about David Vitter? or
Senate hopeful JEFF GREENE who made BILLIONS off of credit default swaps (betting against people being able to pay their mortgages - for every homeless person in FL is $$ in his pocket).
Rick Scott - governor hopeful who was indicted for fraud millions $$ in medicare fraud.
McCollum's hand in the RPOF fraud.... Florida is not one to boast about our politicians, but your list reeks of having an agenda and based on your picks, your agenda must not be that bright.

And WTF is up with Jeff Green being on your list? he might be suspicious, or something, but how is he corrupt? because you don't like him?

Every scrap of evidence actually shows the higher rates of STDs and unplanned/teen pregnancies are in areas that concentrate on absitnence only education. But facts are irrelevant to these people.

An interesting side note: there are actually a number of Evangelical Christian leaders and Women's choice advocates working together on comprehensive initiatives to prevent unplanned pregnancies. Such measures would include sex education that promotes safe sex includes - isn't based on - abstinence, as well as expanded access to birth control.

It's enough to make me cautiously optimistic - key word being "cautiously". The people who have been so influential before could be having such a huge impact right now but are mysteriously silent.

On the last day of the 2010 Legislative Session, the Florida Legislature passed HB 1143 - sweeping anti-choice legislation that restricts women's access to reproductive health care and drastically chips away at Roe v. Wade.

This attack on women's health care by anti-choice Republicans passed both chambers despite never being vetted through a single committee, and never allowing for public comment.

Urge Governor Crist to veto HB 1143, which interferes with private health care decisions and restricts private health insurance from offering abortion coverage.

HB 1143 currently awaits the Governor's decision.

Women will not stand for legislation that takes away our rights and leaves us worse off than we are today.

Tell Governor Crist to veto HB 1143.

That's my point. Not in the sense that it's my opinion, but it was the intention of the GOP when they voted for this law. The whole point is inflicting psychological and financial trauma as a means of detterence. The strategy is make a woman suffer and she'll think twice before terminating her pregnancy. Is vile, but because ultimately a woman has the right to chose, Florida Republicans want to make a legal medical procedure as torturous as they can. It's the conservative thing to do - guilt someone into obeying. It works with sin.

It's infuriating! It pisses me off to no end that women's constitutional rights are being spit on so blatantly. And it seems to be a trend - AZ threatening basic civil rights b/c the "Federal government" didn't take care of their border. It's really infurating when McCain defends this position since he IS THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT.

And I don't get it either. For eight years people like that ran this country into the ground.

....It's equally amazing that someone would want to step in a be responsible for fixing that cluster fuk while the conservative right tries even harder to screw that up as well. I can't believe that there's a tiny core of good people who are willing to put up with that.

I am a strong advocate for a women's right to choose, and I have to admit this new law forcing women to view a grainy image of a pregnancy she's decided to terminate may not resonate with people's sense of violation. But when I read your comment, I had mental image where a woman in your position was compelled to hold or even breast feed her baby.

It's not really the same thing I guess, but it struck me just how evil these people are. To be so self-righteous that their answer is to make a difficult, heart-breaking decision even that much more unbearable? It's not just their "my way or the highway" view of the world, but wanting to cause as much psychological (and physical) pain as possible as punishment for...what? A person that vile gave up their moral defense long ago.

How about the military? Blackwater is a good example of private sector inefficiency (embarrassment, abuse of unregulation, etc, etc).

I completely understand not trusting the government, especially after the Bush administration. But there have been bad administrations before and then there have been really good ones; to say that the government can never do anything right is ignorant and wont accomplish anything.

The fact that this is even on a ballot, the idea that AZ can trump US Laws, shows that the government is not beyond hope.

And it is stupid of the state to misinform the residents and lead them on like that.

AZ is not the only state to have that intelligent idea, but so far they are the only state where to have it on the ballots in 2010 (the rest are still collecting signatures). Good news is that apparently these states have not actually read the 10th amendment because fed laws trump state stupidity

He didn't know it was off the record??? What B.S.!!!! Charming how I heard the statement via his leak and it was explicitly stated on the AUDIO FILE that his comments were off the record.

Moran is a sad, disgusting portrayal of journalism ethics going down the drain. I think the best case scenario would be for no one to ever want to do an interview with him again. And he should be fired and banned from reporting (like disbarring a lawyer only - obviously - not).
