When I discovered that there would be a film version, I couldn't believe that a) they'd chosen a book that lives so much inside the heads of its characters and b) that they expected to SOMEHOW convey the complex personal and collective struggle between characters, government, and human nature accurately.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;I'm skeptical about seeing it.
