I did not say that UCLan banned students from attending, but that they urged them not to attend. As you can see I have spoken to UCLan about the advice they gave and reproduced this in the article so it is a fair representation of what the advice was and what the university had told students.

Re: Scant press coverage for PCC chair Buscombe’s libel ‘regret’

Also reported on Journalism.co.uk As you can see from other links in the piece, we are very pro linking out. We wouldn't link to the name of an organisation/website every time we mention it, but in this case I'll add them in so that readers know what we're talking about. I can assure you it's not a no-linking policy though.

Re: Journalism the third most untrustworthy profession, according to poll

Thanks Adam - saw the thisismoney story yesterday too, but wanted to get the details from the Co-op direct; and held it as a lot of our readers would be 'logging off' for the day as it came through.

Re: European Broadcasting Union meets demand from radio broadcasters for more multimedia

Hi Mike - thanks for the clarification. It is a failsafe for when my laptop inevitably runs out of juice and my voice recorder lets me down.

It's great for scribbling down quick quotes on the hoof and while I think journalists can get by without it, I'd rather not be without mine. It may just be me, but I find the turnaround from shorthand notes to published copy a lot quicker than any other form of notetaking too.

Re: Playing with Disqus

I like the idea of this. Chatting to someone from a firm that moderates online forums the other day, the point was raised that comments on many sites fail to interact with each other. They often appear and read as a long list of responses to the original article. Organising comments in threads forum style is much more appealing and could encourage more focused discussion.
