Oddly, it was a proposal that matched the established procedure. I had been in line for several hours. The poll closed at 7:00pm, but obviously since I had been in line before that, I was allowed to enter to vote.

Sometime around 10:00pm, I made it to the front of the line. I gave her my name. She said that it wasn't valid. I showed my driver's license. She said that didn't matter.
I pointed to my name on the voter rolls. I was told I already voted and that I didn't look like the person there earlier.

My vote was stolen by someone acting fraudulently. I complained to the precinct captain. He made a note. I was not allowed to cast a ballot because I had already voted. Someone HAD committed voter fraud...

The next day I called the Secretary of State office to lodge a complaint. I had to hold for quite a while (there were a lot of other complaints) before talking to someone. She confirmed my info and told me that I had voted... I hadn't. I asked if I could file a complaint. I then filed one... but when asked how it would be investigated, I was told it COULD NOT BE. Unless the poll worker recognized that the person voting in my name was not me, it was unlikely that there would be ANY way to charge someone with voter fraud.

That is why there are so few prosecutions. There are few controls on who votes, and Democrats want to make sure that remains. Prosecutions only happen when the fraudulent voter is caught, and it is almost impossible to catch them unless there is some sort of proof required.

We see precincts where there are more votes that registered voters. But that's ok...

We're done here.

Re: Georgia election fight shows that black voter suppression, a southern tradition, still flourishes

Gotcha. You think you have an axe to grind and you don't want facts getting in the way of your argument.

Perhaps, as you ask for links and source citations, you should look at them. You might learn something.

Pretty sure we are done here. You don't want a discussion, you just want one sided condemnation.

Re: Georgia election fight shows that black voter suppression, a southern tradition, still flourishes

I've never had to "prove" my signature. The law in place (not passed by Kemp) does not STOP anyone from voting. It only flags their registration as needing some sort of verification. What does having a car have to do with anything. While you are using Google to look for why ID laws are racist, look for things that require a valid ID. It isn't just driving. It also includes opening a bank account, getting government aid, buying a prescription, being on an airplane, buying a gun, buying cigarettes, buying any alcohol, buying cold medicine and a plethora of other things people have to do in order to be productive or non-productive in this country. Having an ID to vote, especially if it is free, it's hardly onerous.

Re: Georgia election fight shows that black voter suppression, a southern tradition, still flourishes

So then, since what he is saying isn't accurate, and he knows the law, you are saying that he is purposefully lying. Nor, apparently, did Professor Knight look to see what the actual problems were.

The law is pretty simple. It requires that unless there is an exact match between the info on the registration and the info on file with the sate, the registration is not immediately valid.

However, there is a remedy... the voter shows up at the poll with ANY sort of ID. They have a few years to do so. Then whatever information is corrected and they can cast a regular ballot and they are no longer on the spotlight list. If they show up WITHOUT ANY type of ID, they can STILL cast a provisional ballot.

So, those 53,000 people did NOT show up at the polls in 2016, or at any of the primary elections to show who they were.

As someone that has been turned away from a poll after being told that they already voted (when, in fact, I hadn't) I think that ID should be ABSOLUTELY required. Someone STOLE my vote from me. That person did it without any sort of proof of their identity. At that time, it was stupidly easy... now it is just easy.

It is a criminal action and EVERY effort should be made to prevent it.

Re: 40 Modern Shipping Container Homes for Every Budget

The ad that kept hijacking me to the top of the page made this unreadable.

Re: VIDEO: How To Explain Economics to a Liberal

It's pretty obvious that you are working on DNC talking points and not facts...

Re: VIDEO: How To Explain Economics to a Liberal

So, what you are saying is that a business like FaceBook needed a bunch of people wandering around looking for it before it was created... or people knew that they wanted to see a Star Wars movie before there was a Star Wars movie... or that there were throngs of people just dying to have a car before there were cars... In one case, the operator may indirectly get $1, but it would be much safer if he didn't.

In effect, the FAA has said that if someone volunteers to fly around my listing they are free to do so... they can donate the footage to me and I can use it... as long as there is no money exchanged. We spent most of Bush's presidency under that mark and now consider 7% high.
And last time I checked, technology had robbed millions of jobs. But the past that Ivy League academics can't see is that it creates more jobs than it destroys.
What destroys jobs are people with dumb ideas about government directed economies... like spotting that the government is better at creating markets than the free market is.
