Technically that title's correct. When a light particle - a photon - goes through a certain material, it doesn't pass through, but excites the atoms in that material which in turn emits a photon that is exactly the same as the photon that hit it. The time it travels between atoms is still the universal constant speed of light, but the time it takes to excite an atom will be varied; hence light can somehow be "slowed down by touching" other atoms.

One major gripe about the article: The "past" is not 1975, it's 1973, the year when the Paris Peace Accords happened. Specifically, that happened in January 27, 1973. Why everyone was wearing summer clothing instead of winter outfits is the real problem.

So I guess that means there's time to send Wolverine back to Vietnam with Sabretooth.

Lot's of cheese moved by saying death to the if statement. It does take a major mindset shift to go all declarative if you've been stuck in imperative for decades.

That being said it's only been since the Summit since I took a serious look at Rx and I must say I'm blown away, so I really appreciate your post -- especially a post that had been refactored into a better example!

1%? 1 Hectare is 10,000 sqm. 97,030 hectares is 970,300,000 sqm. Which means 1,000 sqm is 0.0001030509 % of Tubbataha reef.

Considerable damage to underwater ecology, yes, but TOTALLY WRONG TITLE.

This I agree with wholeheartedly. The MRT and LRT is already stressfully inadequate as is. Manual security checks that don't really work (and rude security guards that man them) only make things worse

This reaction is VERY stupid and is a strawman argument. CAB is penalizing airlines not for no-show passengers but for bumped off passengers.

But that doesn't mean that absolute dependence on a parent or a distant relative has to be condoned. I think Suze's point was that it's easier to appreciate the correlation between hard work and the creation of money if a person actually tries doing it themselves.

And hand to mouth existence? Some of these OFW families have embezelled remittances on drugs and gambling while a parent our spouse toils for years away abroad. And then there's the human cost of broken families and spouses having affairs whether they're the one left behind or living abroad.

SMC was awarded the contract for this upgrade. Thing is the terminal fee will be increased in a staggered rate over the next few years. In 2012 it will become 200 daw :(

If PNoy does the right thing and supports or simply even accepts this decision (to the chagrin of his uncles, of course) and does not contest it, it is a very genuine opportunity for him to consolidate support behind his administration and even support vs. GMA.

All in all a golden opportunity for PNoy. If he plays his cards right.
