My husband grew up watching Doctor Who, but I did not. And I have to say, this is the the first season of the show that has REALLY got me going...I'll even go as far as to say that the last episode made me downright nervous! This has been an amazing season, full of twists and turns that really kept my mind working, and my butt on the edge of my seat. Matt Smith is my Doctor...bravo!!

If it wasn't for your YouTube channel, I wouldn't be cloth diapering my baby once he is born. I stumbled upon one of your reviews when I first started researching cloth...this was before I was even pregnant. I could tell you were being honest but not picky or overly critical, and I appreciated that right off. My cloth diapering education began with your reviews! I too, am comforted knowing that even the most popular brand cloth diapers are created by moms for moms and that it's not about greed or sales but more about creating a good product for other moms going through the same experience. Excellent post!

Great post! We'll be doing this next summer, but I am already researching and I think I'll be purchasing at least one potty chair soon, just to have around, so my son can practice sitting on it and getting used to it. I've been interested in the Potty Pod, and it's nice to know you can pick up a cheap chair at Ikea. We just happen to be heading to Minnesota next weekend so I'll be looking for those at Ikea (no stores near us). Thanks for the good info.

We are definitely going to extend rear-facing with our second child, so this would be a great seat to have. I love the simplistic style as well.

Garfield's Halloween on network television!!! McDonald's commercials with the McNuggets dressed like Dracula. REAL McBoo pails, not movie or game tie-in ones that are vaguely related to Halloween. Those weird, no-name, Halloween, stores that would just show up magically inside the mall. The ones with all the rubber masks and props.

I remember the bubble gum. I also loved my Fright Features Peter Venkman with the bulging eyes. RGB was awesome.

I'm in Nebraska and we also get Spirit Halloween stores here. It's really the closest thing to those weird stores in the mall that I was talking about. I absolutely love Spirit and I am chomping at the bit for the ones here to open. I guess we're going to have three in my area this year!!

I love Garth Marenghi! We actually bought a region free DVD player so we could watch British DVDs. What a great show...campy and funny, weird and creepy.

I too, love to put on Hammer movies late at night, but I also love a good episode of MST3K. "Manos: The Hands of Fate" or "Werewolf" are favorites.

I was intrigued by the VHS covers for Zombie, Fright Night, and Evil Dead 2 when I was a kid. I used to stare at them when we'd go to Applause Video, and imagine what the movies were about. Thank you Purple Stuff for confirming that there are no toilet biting monsters like on the cover of Ghoulies,btw. I have never seen it, and always assumed that was what the movie was about this entire time!

My BF works at Target setting the aisles. If I hear anything about Halloween I will post it here. I am always super annoyed that they take forever to start putting out their Halloween stuff. I agree with Modok. If you can't find pencils and pens without 5 aisles of them and it's a month into school, then you have problems. My only guess is that some school systems start later and maybe that's why they keep it out so long? Like, for instance, one of our schools near here just started this week, whereas the school system I work for started 4 weeks ago.

I'm in Nebraska and our school system has been starting us earlier and earlier. We get out at the end of May and start like, the second week of August. I'd much rather go into June and start around or after Labor Day. But, alas.

I just wanted to say "THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU" for these. My Garfield obsession is well known among my friends and family and this just made my day!! Also, the Ray Parker Jr. Ghostbusters commercial is a total flashback. God, I miss '80's-style commercials.

I listen to the podcast during my lunch break at work. It helps me calm down and relax after a morning filled with annoying co-workers. It helps me get through the rest of my day without flipping out on anyone. I had to wait until today to listen to this episode. It was wonderful and quite worth the wait! This seriously makes my week. I wish there was a new one every day. You guys are awesome!

That said, how about some Dario Argento, "Susperia?" The original music by Goblin makes it even that much more awesome. Or was that one that you mentioned on the podcast?

1) Frighteners or something along those lines.

2) Susperia, and Goblin has to do the music.

3) A guy on my block worked for Kellog’s. So being the cheapskate that he was, he handed out free, sample-sized, boxes of like, Raisin Bran or Corn Flakes. LAME. I know that's not gross candy, but it did feel like a huge jip.

4) Garfield’s Halloween (cartoon) & The Muppet Show with Vincent Price (live action)

7) When I was three, MJ’s Thriller came out. My aunt and uncle wanted to show it to my
parents because they hadn't seen it, and I distinctly remember them saying, “Well, what about Melissa?” And my uncle saying, “Oh, she’s too young to even know what’s going on. She’ll be fine.” Um, not so much! I was scared to death…but loved it at the same time. And I covered my head at night for like, 5 years after that. This is how I was baptized into the world of Halloween/horror obsession and I've never looked back.

9) I would have to second the idea that you read about Celtic Halloween traditions.

Oh man. That's waaay better than Kellogs guy and his bran cereal. That sounds sooo good (Twinkie Lady). I would have been okay with like, Fruit Loops or something fun/kiddish, but seriously. I did not want a small box of Special K for Halloween!

Thriller was my first cassette tape as well. I had records before that, but never a tape until that album came out. Whenever I hear Vincent Price talk at the end of the song, even to this day, I get chills. LOVE IT!
