The thought did cross my mind, but would they really be able to get away with that?

I can see most indie Mac developers embracing this model so that they don't have to deal with the mundane plumbing necessary for licensing, billing, updates, promotion, etc. But what about larger ISVs like Microsoft or Adobe? They've invested heavily in building a lot of this plumbing already, and I doubt that they'd be willing to just give away 30% of their revenue to Apple. So in a world where the App Store is the only source of software, would Office and Photoshop cease to exist on the Mac? It sounds like that would be suicidal for the platform. I don't think Apple would take a risk that big unless it can get all of the major ISVs on board.

Yeah, it's pretty sad. I opened up an online High Yield MMA savings account with a 5.x% APY just after I moved here to NYC. Now it's down to 2% in about a year and a half. I suppose it's still "high-yield" compared to the piss-poor interest rates that most brick-and-mortar banks are offering these days though...

Try re-downloading the style from the Notepad++ download page (scroll down to the "Style files" section):
http://notepad-plus.sourcef...

Unzip the stylers.xml file and copy it into the "%APPDATA%\Notepad++" directory.

Geoff, that's a good point. I think the removal of the add-ins API was intentional though. Even in previous versions of Messenger, the add-ins feature was disabled by default, and to enable it, you had to set a value in a registry key (which the Twessenger installer automatically did). So I'm not sure if they ever actually wanted it to be used.

It would be nice if they added it back in after the beta ends, but I'm not keeping my hopes up. :)
