They've invested heavily in building a lot of this plumbing already, and I doubt that they'd be willing to just give away 30% of their revenue to Apple. So in a world where the App Store is the only source of software, would Office and Photoshop cease to exist on the Mac? It sounds like that would be suicidal for the platform. I don't think Apple would take a risk that big unless it can get all of the major ISVs on board.

Re: Benny Wong | bdotr

Haha...so awesome. :)

Re: bdotr

WANT too! :)

Re: bdotr

Hahah yeah...this was on Colbert the other night. :)

Re: bdotr

>> Maybe I’m being young and idealistic again. I opened up an online High Yield MMA savings account with a 5.x% APY just after I moved here to NYC. Now it's down to 2% in about a year and a half. I suppose it's still "high-yield" compared to the piss-poor interest rates that most brick-and-mortar banks are offering these days though...

Re: In a section titled "Just Suck It Up"

>> "I refuse to believe that there are no jobs that you enjoy doing."

I don't think the post was implying that, actually. I think the removal of the add-ins API was intentional though. Even in previous versions of Messenger, the add-ins feature was disabled by default, and to enable it, you had to set a value in a registry key (which the Twessenger installer automatically did). So I'm not sure if they ever actually wanted it to be used.

It would be nice if they added it back in after the beta ends, but I'm not keeping my hopes up. :)

Re: Twessenger 2.0 is ready to go…

@Everyone, please take a look at this post about Twessenger + WLM 2009 compatibility:
http://kunal.kundaje.net/20...

Re: Tina Fey plays Sarah Palin on SNL…

Geoff, try this one: http://www.metacafe.com/wat...

Re: bdotr

So is the SecurID in the pic your way of proving that you were actually getting "work" done? :D

Re: Have you tried Firefox 3 yet?

Wes: It's been a while since the last Twessenger update, but since I've been getting lots of requests, I have just started working on a new version today.
