I think February is a better time for this. I do need to see the economy stabilize before we at my house can afford the raise in our taxes. Upon close examination the taxes were higher than we expected. We do have three kids that will be attending Vashon High in the years to come and look forward for the opportunity to pass a vote on something that works better for us.

Re: Letter to the Editor: Think again before voting 'yes' on the school bond - Vashon-Maury Island Beachcomber

The teachers are suffering so many financial hardships right now. Out dated text books. Cut backs in music and art. Our teachers aren't getting paid what they deserve or need. 1) New and old teachers and administration have endured massive financial hardships. My favorite long time teacher and resident moved off island and commutes now to curtail the substantial increases in our high cost of living. That's not fair to me.
2) The special needs kids don't have enough resources.
Question; Just who will attend the new facilities? The 2008 pre-school program was canceled because there was only one child who registered, mine.
One more question: Will the high school students who attend the new facilities be able to afford to buy homes here in 20 years and give back to the community?

You do the math.

I will however support an action to raise equal funds for world class teachers and curriculum.

Respectfully,
Korina Knudson
