I find it helps warm my insides a little, counteracting the chilling effects of my icy beverage.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Unfortunately, it doesn't slow down the consumption process for me. If I'm really hungry, I'll down it pretty quickly. It does a pretty good job, especially when I don't feel like cleaning up the Blendtec. But, when I say to use coconut or flax that is finely ground, I use my Magic Bullet blender, which works wonderfully for that task.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Basically, I just use whatever works best for me.
