Read the replies on the tweet. The bodies were piled up naturally during the stampede. That's why they died. If they had been bulldozed into piles they would be dirty, but they're not.

Re: Bugs Are Welcome

Typo in Section 3 ("What is a Bug"), Sentence 2, replace "iff" with "if".

Re: The Chaos Theory Of Startups

Grammar correction: Paragraph 7, sentence 1, replace second instance of "then" with "than".

Re: BitTorrent’s Chat Client Unveiled: BitTorrent Bleep Now in Invite Only Pre-Alpha

Bleep me @ afc6c9f2a5b6f2358b9755f91e11ea2ff0ba7366938ab34555bb67709a592f7f

Re: Sony Pico Projector module delivers focus-free HD resolution images

1920x720 is not 16:9

Re: A new 'crypto-war' breaks out, as citizens and criminals learn to hide from government

Check out my new project on Kickstarter - Encrypted Geosocial Networking http://www.kickstarter.com/...

Re: Update on BitTorrent Chat

Will I be able to use the same account synced to multiple devices?

Re: 7 killed in Peru helicopter crash, including Americans

I witnessed this crash from a boat headed from Yarina Cocha to San Francisco. The crash occurred near the village of San Juan. The helicopter passed us on the right headed toward Tarapoto, then 2 or 3 minutes later it was spotted off the left side of the boat headed back to the airport. It was in 2 pieces and it was on fire. The cargo block dangled from 2 of its 4 ropes attached to the front half of the chopper. The cabin was spewing flames out the back as it careened slowly below the jungle tree line, followed by a large mushroom cloud of flame and thick black smoke. The thick black smoke continued to billow from the crash site for over 30 minutes.

Re: Book Review - Coders At Work

+1

Re: Most Pressed Keys and Programming Syntaxes

{ Erlang?! }

Re: As promised, here's the photo of $211,223.04 in cash we raised for charity

You can't arrange by penis.

Re: Beatport Launches Mixes: Sell Your DJ Mixes Legitimately

It's going to be interesting to see how people use the service.

Re: ROCA: Resource-oriented Client Architecture - Discussion

Perhaps you could expand on must-no-duplication. More developrs, especially recent grads, are picking up Ruby as a first language. We need to do a poll.

Re: Your Code is My Hell

And what of novice developers who come to Ruby without extensive experience in PHP? I guess my point is that the reason novice developers write bad code is because they are novice developers, not because they are PHP developers.

Re: Your Code is My Hell

error_reporting(-1);

Re: Your Code is My Hell

Ruby community lacks discipline and somehow PHP is to blame? That's nonsense.

We in the PHP community suffer from the same lack of knowledge and discipline as any other dynamic language. The only reason Ruby thinks it's different is because it's only now having been around long enough to attract a larger representative portion of under skilled developers.

I've worked in 750 KLOC PHP environments and I don't see how blaming the language is going to help keep messes like that from ever happening again.

When you put a 10 lb feature in a 5 lb bag in a 3 lb bag, it doesn't matter what the bag is made of. The problem is not the technology itself, but rather your misuse of the technology.

What the industry really needs right now in both Ruby and PHP is better access to and emphasis on software architecture training and education.

Every person I've ever met with the title of Software Architect who works primarily with PHP has demonstrated a surprisingly poor grasp of the discipline of software architecture.

Re: Our Laser Cutter Has Arrived!

Cool bong, bro.

Re: Conference News

At the last conference, a woman Boa from Colorado had some serious post & bridge work done at a very reasonable price. That it might be seen as a form of quitting. I sometimes wonder whether it's worth stating my goals at all knowing that they'll change; the growth in perspective I've gleaned from their pursuit lost amidst the disappointment and lack of honor.
