Whether I try to upgrade from 10.10 (which works successfully) or trying to boot up from a brand new 11.04 CD, I get this error during the boot up:

"Panic occurred - switching back to text console"

and then nothing happens.

I have tried to google this problem but it doesn't seem to be a normal problem for 11.04.
Does anyone have any idea what the problem could be?

I really want to try out this new release soon...!

Well, how then?
Can't find any options to change that.

I can see all the music in my collection. If I click ones, nothing happens, if I double click it loads all that music into a new playlist.

If I then double click on another artist in my collection, it adds that music to the same playlist...

Need some guidelines here!

Exaile would work great if you just could single click on a folder/artist and have the songs shown the the right, without creating of a new playlist. I just want to browse the songs and play them.

Still looking for a player like foobar2000 :(

Thanks man! The plugin worked great. Just some thoughts...

1. Can I change so the folder I click on don't automatically starts to play? I want to be able to listen to a "folder" and still be able to click around and look into the others.

2. The search function doesn't work at all.

3. It would be great if you could move the folder list to the left and replace that menu (this way we would finally have a player work and look like foobar2000 :) ).

Hmm, very off topic, but we actually do use å(ä,ö) in Sweden...

"Hva bra!" is also not Swedish, more Noway style with "hv" :)

I'm still having problem with the menu bar, it's not visible!
I have tried many different versions, both .deb and from svn.

That's great, but the Windows platform will never get a better music player than foobar2000 :)

Banshee is one of the favorites on the Linux platform,but I'm still hoping for foobar2000 to go native in Linux.

µTorrent has been my choice in Windows for maaaaaany years. I have never found any torrent client in Linux that I like as much as µTorrent :)

Well, I tried it but only got a white page. Maybe I will try to run it from my desktop session later, as d0od suggested to somebody else.

So if I got this right, Unity have no gnome-dependencies, right?
Shouldn't I simply be able to run this on Lubuntu too?

I was just sharing my thoughts between Windows 7 and Dockbar/DockbarX/Talika.
I looked up "Stasks" now and it looked smooth, that's for sure :)
But I don't use KDE, have only tried it from time to time but I find it too "bloated". Gnome is perfect for me and I'm sure I will find a great...window handler(?)/task handler(?) someday :P

First time compiz runs great with a ATI-card for me :)

I had to modify the xorg.conf manually to make it work, because the command complained about something like "Layout" was missing. So I just added:

Section "ServerLayout"
Identifier "Default"
EndSection

Then the command you posted worked. This is great news for all us ATI-owners! :)

Last time I tried Talika I found it too simple. Have tried DockbarX also but somehow nothing feels as smooth as in Windows 7. Don't really know which program I should use to control my windows :S

Anyway, now I must check out Talika again to see its improvements! :)

It actually works! First timer EVER in Ubuntu ( since 7.04 I think ) I have all my 6 disks mounted auto on startup. I Have always wanted to fix this but never got it to work. Thanks a lot dude!

Well, the search function still lags when I use it with my pretty large collection of FLAC+MP3 (~40.000 songs) and the watch folder seems pretty slow? (If it works at all...)

Rhytmbox handles this two things much better, but I would love to start using Banshee because of the beautiful interface :)

My bad, haven't heard about LXDE before I think.
I just installed Lubuntu 10.04 Beta on my laptop, which I had Ubuntu on before. And wow, what a difference! The spec is only 510 MB RAM and a 16 Ghz processor. With Ubuntu it was nearly unusable, but now it runs like a charm!

Really need to read more about LXDE now :)

I thought between Pidgin and Emesene! I use both of them in both Ubuntu and Windows. I love the simple interface in both of them. But the vote ended up@Pidgin anyway :)

I wonder which IM-client that handles "offline-messaging" best. Both Pidgin and Emesene seems to be a little random there, sometimes my messages arrives and sometimes don't. With Windows Live Messenger it always work :/

1. Is there a media library function with auto-scan for new tracks?
2. Can I play my music from my NTFS-disk?

One thing I really don't like in LL is the "me-menu"(?). Why is it combined with the button to logout/quit? I will never use that function and there should be an option if you want to use it or not?

Otherwise it all looks and feels great :)
Will probably make a clean install when the stable 10.4 comes out and I got myself a new SSD as operating-system disk :D

I have tried the Gnome Shell a little bit in both KK and LL and I must say I'm not that impressed anymore :/
At first it looked pretty clean and cool, but now I don't see the difference between this and using the regular Gnome Desktop with some compiz effects.

I would almost say that Gnome Shell seems more "bloated". It's a like the old Desktop PLUS this shell-thing over it.
I have configured my compiz so that it shows all my opened programs when I move the mouse to right corner, and shows all my desktops when I move the mouse to the upper left corner. Gnome Shell those the same but not as smooth I think.

But hey, I'm a fan of progress and to try new things so I'm still excited about how this will end :)

I really can't do programming without auto-complete functionality, it's a "must have" for me :P

But the program was really sloooow while typing, even on my computer which isn't that bad. I guess the background-functions such as auto-complete and the spell-checker slows it down a lot...
