This makes me a little sad. I think snark is good, in moderation. I especially liked your Twitter post because I thought it really showed how genuinely you care about this space by not only expressing your frustration with those who are trying to game it, but also by giving really valuable advice.

Maybe a satirical disclaimer could help people who don't quite know your tone yet, but I think that you hit a rather clever way to express your frustration and help your friends at the same time.

Also, I just really like snark.

Don't have much to add, but I thought this was a really great point about comments and the way we consume blogs. I hope that comment feeds are incorporated into RSS feeds somehow!

I just emailed this to them last night. I haven't heard anything back from them yet. In the past when I've talked to them about it they seem to get the idea, but don't see its utility for them. I hoped this would at least make them chuckle :)

Just as a note: visa giftcards, while totally legit, can be a major pain in the butt. The problem is that stores can't check your balance for you. And you can't just use the last few bucks on your card and then pay the balance unless you already know how much was left on the card. Because it rings up as a credit card it will just be denied (I think) if you charge more than your balance. Also, checking your balance is a huge hassel and sometime the will even deduct a fee for checking the balance. Not cool.

They're really practical gifts, you just have to be very mindful of how you're spending them so that you don't end up with a pile of visa gift cards with <$5 on them!

Drew, I agree on the functionality of search. I have the same experience w/ things I know I've shared but can't find them. I know that by default anything I've shared has been pulled into strands so that's a great place to start looking now that search makes it an option :D
