So much of our digestion relates to our emotional state while eating too, and if we're stressed that it's what we're not eating, then the emotional beat-up we give ourselves will do more damage than what we're eating. Being relaxed and adaptable gives us the freedom of options and choice, which makes us happier!
Many thanks :)

Re: Update from melbRAWne, rAwUSTRALIA- Plus a sneak peek at my cover photo for Living Raw magazine!

Hi Sherri, you should have received your magazine now - all subscriptions are posted and the next order is on it's way. It really is the fresh way to prepare raw foods in true gourmet style without falling back on the SAD cousins' of gourmet raw cuisine. I hope you're doing a class in Melbourne in July so I can come along :)
Love, Kate

Re: minimalists blogging

Thanks Ross for the great links - I'm very much into minimalising my life and these sites further my inspiration and motivation. Big big big hugs to you! I too have teeth problem, I need to have 4 wisdoms pulled that I've been putting off for years despite the pain, because dentistry just costs so much!

But as Dhrumil said, you are so much more than your teeth! You are absolutely beautiful - and I love the pink hair, it makes your blue eyes shine, even though you're sad in these videos :)

YAY for Pink Lemonade - I love the idea of it, of finding the silver lining in the clouds :)

And please please don't hide your beautiful smile :)

Re: Happy Holidays 2008

Hi Heidi,

I've had random sadness this week too. I had a day where I was just down, like I had a dark cloud over me. After a good long sleep, lots of water and taking time to be quiet, I was back to me again! A lot of it is seeing the year going so fast and still being in the same situation of a job I'm no longer passionate for, getting older and wanting to start a family, the "pressure" of Christmas and people driving and acting stupid... !

We're hosting Christmas for family and friends - both being 'only' children there's just our parents and a friend who come each year. It's usually really hot in Perth at Christmas, above 40 deg celcius (over 100F for you) and often bushfire - but people traditionally still do a roast, and buy into the 'white christmas' stuff (ie. fake snow on the sunburnt lawn!). I'll have to take some photos and blog them for you to see - it's rather funny :)

Thankfully this year the weather is cooler and it looks like it will be about 30 deg celcius. We'll have the windows open and let the (warmish) breeze in :) But it is *great* weather for a Raw Food Christmas!

We're cooking fish for the omnivores on the BBQ and my friend is bringing a vegetarian potato salad. Other than that, everything else will be raw vegan food (3 raw vegans, 1 vegetarian, 3 omnivores). I'm making up a Rawsagne for our main meal, stuffed avocadoes, and some salads. And a lot of desserts, as everyone loves those :)

I am quite a scrooge when it comes to Christmas, mainly because of what I said above - sooo many people buy into the 'White Christmas' look which just isn't Aussie! I hope one day to spend Christmas in the US or Europe, to have a real white Christmas, because it seems so magical.

Looking ahead, on Boxing Day we're going to a BBQ at another relatives house, and then next week I'm back at work for a few days.

In 2009, I am manifesting extreme change in my circumstances - I am so unhappy where I am right now. I want to - actually, need to - change career and leave IT as being my day job. I will return to my passion for teaching and writing, and give myself the space to get over some emotional blocks and continue on my raw healing success story :) Any amplification for this to come true would be so gratefully received!

Wishing you and JS a VERY happy Christmas and a big thanks to everything you do for the raw food community. Happy holidays and love to you both, from the other side of the world :)

Kate
http://www.rawandvegan.com

Re: Happy Birthday Philip

Happy Birthday Philip!

LOVE the photo! He has been in the back of my mind, a stranger and yet I would often wonder how he was going.

I'll certainly honour Oscars memory by checking out the Freshtopia videos once again, and listening to the podcast.

Love and hugs to Tanja and to everyone who knew Oscar.

Re: Uninformed Consent

I just wish I could find a holistic dentist here in Australia. I desperately need some fillings done but I'm terrified of the amalgam! This interview on raw vegan radio with Dr Hal Huggins was the eye-opener for me: http://www.rawveganradio.co...
