A modest proposal: any college or university faculty membe4 who regards ignorance as equal to knowledge should be legally considered to have waived th3 right to any legal, administrative, or other redress for any error or oversight which adverse,y affects that faculty me,morein any way. From incorrect change at the corner store, to a computer error at the bank, to medical error or pilot error or auto repair error … if anyone anywhere makes a mistake that adversely affects someone who teaches that getting things wrong is as good as getting things right, that person should have no expectation of being helped or compensated (or even allowed t9 sue) when affected badly by anyone’s error.

She laughs at me for even try8ng, because (as she reminds me) any time I read an article about how to silence her (or how to do anyth8ng else to her or with her), she’s right there reading the same article — so,anything I try against her (or to her, or about her), she already knows about & she can already ward herself against.

I am Jewish, and I know that various Indians and other non-Jews have converted to Judaism. For anyone who converts to Judaism, there is a period of study to ensure that the new person will understand Judaism and will be able to practice it, and this has to be completed to the satisfaction of the people in charge, before the actual conversion ceremony can be arranged.. But certainly it can be done!

When “reading instruction” doesn’t instruct,
the illiterates it produces are those who think they already know how to read.

Illiterates who think they’re already literate are the least likely ever to learn how.

Can you think of a _better_ way to keep anyone illiterate, when convenient?

Yes, and leaving the abbreviation “DRD” stable is likewise false-to-fact about dyslexia. Abbreviations are as unstable, for us dyslexics, as anything else!

I’ve been trying to do this, but I’ve never been successful in locating some “higher self,” after decades of trying (including when I was in therapy). About how many decades does it usually take to access “the higher self”? And how can I tell if possibly I just don’t have one?

Absolutely none of this works with my inner child, who doesn’t “buy” any of it! For instance, she rejects and despises being told “I forgive you” because she knows she’s done nothing that needs any forgiveness! So that, and other material on your list of things to tell her, is hugely triggering and hurtful to her. So, what should I say or do now?

So, if it is “racist” not to understand another accent, it must also be “racist” not to understand another language ... well, there are 6000+ languages in the world, and nobody understands all of them, so Must we damn our whole planet’s population as racists, one and all?

Also ... well, I’m white, and some of the fellow Americans who don’t always understand my accent are black or brown. So, are they being racist when I need to repeat myself? Or does it only work in one direction?
