Hell, even I don't know all of Russ's refferences in today's comic... I see:

...is it a little sad that all the ones I recognize are robots?

Also, the "yellow" Dalek is probably either a reference to the new re-designed copper daleks. It could also be one of the mid-80's daleks (think 6th Doctor) when the two factions were splitting into the Imperial and Renegade daleks and they had a lot of specialized sub-models, like a "tank" dalek... it runs in my mind that some of those had a very golden paint job.

I thought you were too busy with your illustrious Cheese-Making enterprise to help out, otherwise I would've gone to you first before putting out this "public shoutout". Well, you more than qualify, so consider yourself short-listed. I'll contact you with more info in a bit.

In the meantime, don't let this discourage you (and by you, I mean anyone other than Weirdonian) from applying too. I'm looking for a couple of people, not just one, so I still strongly encourage any interested parties to contact me.

Credit where credit's due - I cheated a bit on the drive-in sign, and want to acknowledge the website which helped - it's http://www.redkid.net/gener... where you can put your own bad movies up on the sign for the now-regrettably long-lost Buffalo Drive In.

Also, a word on the drive-in... I didn't know any of this, but apparently The Buffalo Drive-In was a really cool place that fell to economic pressures (and being bulldozed for a medical campus) back in 2007. Now I *know* you're not talking about me. You have *seen* my comic, right?

All kidding aside, the convention turned out to be pretty fun, although it felt like it was very short... probably in no small part due in part to how busy I was. Still, I had a good time and it wasn't too far away from where I live, so hopefully I'll be able to put in a repeat performance in 2010.

Well, like I said, I wasn't in a particularly good place, so if I failed to notice your friendly advances, it's more likely me than not to blame. I think my biggest failing was not getting there before the con started - normally it's my policy to try and arrive at a convention that morning, even if it doesn't start until late, but my job prevented this from happening, so I sort of arrived "in progress" and it took me a while to normalize. This was written on the first night of the convention, so I did get better as the con went on.

But say, mysterious stranger commentator, should I know/remember who you are?

The only problem was that I'm now using WebComic, not Comicpress, so the settings I used were apparently all wrong. I was trying to create a secondary loop for all my non-comic-sketch posts (of which there will probably be more) and instead I did... something, I'm not entirely sure... but it seems to be fine now. I think.
