Did caregiver take money from dependent? Yes the caregiver did take money from my mother, who is wheelchair bound after suffering a severe stroke. Actually the caregiver took 100.00 that time and was caught- we believe as much 500.00 total over time was taken.

Another big portion of serious spending that could and should be implemented is the Compassionate Release of elderly, sick and dying inmates. Costings millions in health care services, staff OT...a ridiculous waste when AB 1539 was passed and now ignored. 88 yr old woman just died recently locked up, no threat to public safety-she could have went home to her loved ones long ago. The DA should never have accepted a plea - this is outright MURDER- as evidenced by running over the victim and then backing up -and these gang members do not deserve any mercy; they didnt show any mercy to the victim. They both should be locked up with out the chance of parole- Life without parole. What is wrong with the DA's office in Hollister? Someones life is NOT about "lets make a deal".....My heart goes out the family of Mr Gallegos.

tested 2 hrs AFTER the incident- of course he was below the legal limit! What is a Cop doing driving after he has been drinking anyways? He should NOT have been behind the wheel, he should KNOW better being in LE, period. Top it all off with prescription pain meds- totally unacceptable. "Upon contact, I observed objective symptoms of alcohol intoxication and conducted a DUI evaluation on the driver," the officer wrote in his report. That evaluation included field sobriety tests and a blood test.

Court documents indicate a motion for suppression filed by LaForge contended that "a nonconsensual blood draw must be supported by probable cause to result in a lawful arrest."

I believe that "probable cause" is explained in the CHP report....this whole case reeks of coverup & chronyism- the good ol boy syndrome that plagues SBC. And now this cop is on PROBATION- still patrolling the streets.....he should have been suspended with out pay for the term of his probation!!!

Obviously a "powder keg" ready to go off. The signs were there and overlooked... a propensity for violence as she abused her husband and now has MURDERED her child. So what if she paid her fines? What has that got to do with an obvious mental illness? What type of treatment was she undergoing? 52 weeks of domestic violence classes surely was not enough- could this death have been prevented? Most possibly so, if probation and her husband had spoke up and spoke out!! Untreated mental illness....why was this woman not referred to counseling??? Why was social services not doing home visits???

Hmmm- West Coast Linen hires illegals - what about the I9 Form that has to be filled out after being hired that is supposed to confirm documented status?? You must present some type of ID and social security #....Yes these people should be paid for the hours they worked-but they should also be deported- they, along with West Coast Linen falsified documents..should INS be called- you betcha!! This is just wrong no matter how you look at it!

If there is a shelter and the task force is helping Mike- they why is he sleeping at the bus station? He, along with others sleeping outside are vulnerable to these types of attacks and violence! Mike has been sleeping at the bus station for 3 weeks-again I ask, why is he not sleeping at the shelter?

I hope this guy stays in jail- not only was I harassed by one of his companies, but so was my mother. My car was stolen, wrecked and recovered- I was told to sign the pink slip over and they would junk it. I would not be responsible for the tow bill/recovery...they LIED!! His son, sister and husband are all corrupt!!

Well Doug- seems like your just heartless-but your daughters are not, at least not yet- a few more years under YOUR guidance should make them just like YOU...something to be proud of!! Hollister needs to address the homeless issue-which is long over due. Isnt there someone out there or a few business that can help Mike get back on his feet? Where is the community spirit? Why doesnt the Homeless Task Force and Human Services assist? Why is there even a task force if there is no assistance available? Good Luck & prayers to Mike.....

I remember the first few rallies- a true community event with fun to be had by all-not a shameless flea market. Bring back the type of rally Hollister can be proud of and put Hollister back on the map!!!

Hollister - Sgt. Mike Rodrigues was the sheriff's deputy who shot an unarmed Hollister man Sunday on Highway 156, according to two county officials familiar with the case who asked to remain unnamed.

Rodrigues had his 11-year-old daughter in the patrol car - a possible violation of department policy - at the time of the shooting. On Monday, Sheriff Curtis Hill confirmed that the daughter was in the patrol car and said her presence is part of the investigation into the shooting.

Rodrigues could not be reached Thursday at his home or his parents' home. The deputy is the son of former San Benito County Supervisor Ron Rodrigues.

The president of the local chapter of the League of United Latin American Citizens said Thursday that the organization contacted the American Civil Liberties Union and the Civil Rights Coalition in Monterey about the shooting.

"We are sending a letter to the sheriff of San Benito County and the District Attorney's Office," LULAC President Mickie Luna said. "We're calling for a full investigation."

And on another note- you can ask any of the former FEMALE inmates that "Mikey" transported from Jail to Court....especially Sherri F- he always provided Cigarettes and so much more....I am surprised that more females have not stepped forward with tales of their "dealings" with Mikey.....
