There is no race war, just a bunch of middle-aged and older white men yearning for the old days when they held most of the power. They are now outnumbered by everyone else. Democracy is stronger than ever!

Re: Opinion: Raise the drawbridge! EU refugee policy - 19129452

True refugees have a right to asylum and safety, but not to choose where in the E.U. They are not "stranded" or "abandoned" in Idomeni or Calais or places like that, they can move to shelters and claim asylum in Greece or France or sign up for the relocation program. They just can't automatically walk through to their first choice country anywhere, Germany, Sweden or England. Most of the world is unsafe by comparison to Europe, that doesn't mean they get automatic ayslum, especially when they openly say they are in search of jobs or education as first priority. If they are from a war zone, they should be with their families already. Who would leave a spouse or kids behind in that situation if it were truly dangerous? And thanks to the easy access to guns, the U.S. actually has a higher homicide rate than Turkey. Should the U.S. be declared an unsafe country and Americans claim asylum in Europe as well?

Re: Zimbabwe’s first all female flight deck crew

Why would you assume that any unnecessary safety risks were taken "just to write history"? Would you think that if the picture showed two MALE pilots?

Re: I'm a feminist, and I converted to Islam

All this hatred and ignorance expressed here makes me ashamed to be an American. Extremists from all religions twist their faith to accommodate their personal desire for power and to justify killing, even within their own larger faith. Catholics vs Protestants and Sunni vs Shia are prime examples. How about Christian Nazis vs Jews for interfaith violence? The vast majority of EVERY major religion seek peace. There have been 5 recent Muslim Nobel Peace Prize winners! And really, who cares about head coverings? Most Christian women did the same until about a century ago and the very conservative ones still do. As a Christian, I pray for the hearts and minds of the haters on here to open up.

Re: Sex Valley: Tech's booming prostitution trade

No, don't legalize it! Legalization leads to increased demand which leads to increased human trafficking (case in point: Germany). Little girls do not dream of growing up to be $20 street walkers. While there are certainly a few high-earning "elite" ones like in this article who voluntarily chose the profession, many prostitutes are intimidated or outright forced into the lifestyle.
