It definitely has a bent. Einstein seems to be for removing the confines of personal reality to unveil the essence of what is. The rip-off is imposing limits in it's how we should accomplish this. Furthermore, it does not really get to the point: It is peace of mind that is our freedom.

Re: Gregory Isaacs, R.I.P. » The Liberator Magazine | Blog

Give thanks! Nice tribute. I had a different experience with Gregory. I DID fall in love with reggae through Bob Marley, Peter Tosh and Bunny Wailer. I first really got into it as a freshman in high school. But, being that I was a HIP-HOP head, I was drawn immediately to dancehall back then. So, while I still listened to some roots, for a few years, I eventually became almost strictly devoted to the dancehall tunes. As I grew a little and began to tire of dancehall, I started to dig deeper into older stuff. That's when I found Gregory Isaacs. As they say, I'd listened to him before but, that is when I HEARD him. I was totally mesmerized. Tune In, Cool Down the Pace, If I Don't Have You, I was amazed how these slow grooves could just GRAB me. His voice!?! You hit the hammer on the nail: "...you just can’t get any smoother than Gregory Isaacs. "

RIP, Cool Ruler. Long live Gregory!!

Re: http://weblog.liberatormagazine.com/2008/09/ugandan-children-cover-bjorks-all-is.html

I just Love this!

Re: Gyptian [mp3] » The Liberator Magazine | Blog

I agree about the LP version.

Re: Gappy Ranks [mp3] » The Liberator Magazine | Blog

Yeap! I tend to lean more to the one drop/roots style. If you like dancehall and concious, and are up for another surprise, check out the combination album from Delus & Konshens "Modern Revolution". Konshens has numerous styles, and I wasn't really familiar with Delus before copping that one. But, it's got a real nice roots vibe too. More full, deep, bassy riddims than on Gappy's Put the Stereo On so, different still. A lot of nice tunes on both.

Re: Gappy Ranks [mp3] » The Liberator Magazine | Blog

Not my favorite tune but, his album "Put the Stereo On" (8/24) is NICE!

Re: Rare & Bizarre Vol. 1 [ep/mix]

Fave here too! Anyway, the album is dope! Glad I waited. I think the "leak" is a marketing ploy now, as much as anything. And I'm not mad about it. I really am just talking about my personal experience. I will continue to consume underground projects and tracks fervently. I just feel like I've been missing that album experience for a long time...maybe it's just nostalgia, and I'm getting old...but I do enjoy letting this one play the whole way through. Nice job Roots!!

Re: The Roots: "Dear God 2.0" x "The Fire" [vid/mp3]

That "Monsters of Folk" song is amazing! I'm not listening to any of these Roots tracks until the album drops. I've been grabbing every leaked tune off upcoming albums for a while now, and it actually kinda kills the album experience for me. I find myself skipping tracks, because I want to get to the new stuff I haven't heard, or lingering on tracks that are already favorites. I want to go in clean from now on, and maintain some continuity. There's been talk about people not making "albums" any more and just putting a bunch of singles together. Well, part of that maybe in the creation but, part of it is in the consumption. I'm taking back my experience...at least the part I have control over.

Thanks and Love!

Re: Rare & Bizarre Vol. 3 [ep/mix]

Got it unpacked.
