Written in which alphabet? If it's written in Romaji it looks just like it does in English. As it should be read.　 If you type Siri in Katakana it would come out as ｼﾘ. And if you were in 3rd grade 50 years ago it would sound like しり。Or 尻 in Kanji. It might be funny. If you're an adult in today's world it is quite a stretch. My point is it's childish and not worth a media storm outside of Japan.

Siri is not even close to Shiri. How is this news? That's about like saying Do sounds like Dog. The h makes a big difference in the way the word is pronounced in Japanese.

It's awesome. Noticeably faster than the G3 and the compass rocks. Not the compass its self. The integration of the compass into other applications like the map program is amazing. I was skeptical too, I almost didn't upgrade but after using it for a few days I could never go back. Sorry for being vague here. Gotta get to work! Oh, and the little nanothingies make is super easy to clean. One swipe across my shirt and you can actually see the oil stain! For real though, I have been testing it side by side for a few days and if you can afford it I defiantly recommend you get one.

Looking forward to the next one. Need more storage, needs to be water proof, needs to have more real buttons, a 9-pin serial port, terminal program, standard usb port, compassion, higher resolution, gaming graphics card, lighter, wider, cheaper, cut, copy and paste.

Really good points there. Big business has a hand in creating some of the viruses and an even greater hand in blowing them out of proportion. A couple years back a virus was traced back to the creator who claimed the music industry payed them to attach viruses to torrent files to deter people from stealing music.

Not required. Had several macs for about 6 years now with no problems. Then again I don't use anti virus on my PC's either. I just know how to take care of them. Why would I put a program on my computer that is know to significantly slow it down? Doesn't that kinda defeat the purpose?

Japanese: A huge Japanese English dictionary and tool. In the same search Field you can type in English, Romanji, Hiragana, Katakana or Kanji and it searches while you type. Several other tools are included. Awesome.

Fieldrunners: I second that Scott but I have moved on to 7 City's. It is a much larger game with tower ability upgrades and progressive levels.

Bomberman Online: Blow people up, realtime, online.

Shazam: Hold it up to music and it will ID it 90% of the time.

Google Tasks: Stick it on your phone, your iGoogle and your Gmail. Three kinds of awesome. Oh yeah, it's a simple task manager.

Air Mouse: Make mouse motions in the air... It works but I already have enough mice.

I have like 5 pages of other worthless apps I need to delete. Will post more after I get 3.0

I'm a bit underwhelmed about all this. I want an iPhone that's about twice as thin with a 50% wider screen and all the same features. Double the battery life, run Google apps and the picasa editor as an application, put a few programmable buttons on the side. While we are on the subject I think the number one complaint I have about all my gadgets is the fact that no one takes the extra 5 bucks to make their products WATERPROOF! I mean you can go to the dime store and get a watch that will keep your schedule straight while you hunt for Atlantis. Why the hell cant they seal up a couple holes on my phone?

All of the IM apps are a waste of icon space for me. You can only receive messages if they are open. With Gmail I am talking about the 15 minute push. Live would be... no more than a few seconds. Neither one of these things are going to work the way I want them to any time soon. When the 2nd Gphone hits Japan I'm going to switch. I need a real keyboard to type Japanese fast. English is ok with the iPhone. The iPhone camera is a novelty. And the lack of copy and paste is a MAJOR issue! Sorry, got carried away and went way outside the scope of this article. I still love my iPhone!

I hope you're right. One of my main issues is not even exclusive to Google. I want Gmail and Gtalk to be live on the iPhone. I would also like to see better functionality for documents.

On the other side of things, last week I had a chance to play around with the first Google phone It was cool and easy to use but the second one is rumored to be more powerful than an iPhone. Overall competition is a good thing.

As much as I love my Apple products I have never been a fan of any of their pay-to-play websites. On top of that Mobile Me did not have much of an appeal to me to begin with. I keep my Google contacts and calender up to date and I can already do that from anywhere and I have gigs of free space from Google.

I love this new feature! I hope this trend of avoiding proprietary-ism (developed a new word because thesaurus.com was no help) continues but am I the only one that feels like Google and Apple have been inching away from each other lately? Perhaps they see more and more of their revenue streams crossing.

I'm not a blogger, I don't tweet, I rarely mess with RSS and if I care to share my bookmarks I usually just email them to my close friends or post them on my Facebook wall. I want something that will allow me to quickly send bookmarks from any computer out to my master list. For me, Google Bookmarks is that something. The fact I can plop it in the middle of my iGoogle is just icing on the cake. I posted my iGoogle to picasa. Take a look!

I'm into one-stop-shopping so unless another product beats out the G team in a certain area by a long shot they will continue to be my provider of said service. I'm in progress of consolidating my online presence . I will leave all my other accounts open but I am trying to get everything I need on the front page of iGoogle. TechMisos up there!

Some notable exceptions:
No Google Group will ever compare to Reddit, especially with all the SPAM in there.
Orkut will never be Facebook or even Myspace unless you speak Portuguese.
Google Translator doesn't compare to WWWJDIC unless you are typing up a letter to your 5 year old pen pal.

The list goes on I'm sure, but what I can't at least gadget into iGoogle I probably don't need anyways. I don't really consider myself a fanboi of any company. I just like to have the maximum amount of data displayed in the smallest area possible. I need multiple monitors with gigabytes of data flowing across them to keep me for getting bored, quitting my job and heading to Yoyogi to juggle for onegiri.

I've been using Google Bookmarks for a while now. I've dumped an export from all my browsers into it and now I maintain them all in one spot. On each browser I added the Google Bookmark button. One click and the site is added and I usually take the time to give it a nice description and put the proper label on it. Because I have labeled most of my bookmarks I can decide what I want to see by adding the Google Bookmarks Gadget to my iGoogle page.

As much as I love most of Apple's products I predict that the company has hit it's pinnacle, or at least is is due for a bit of a slump. It seems to me that over the years the health of the company has always been closely tied to the health and or presence of it's head honcho. Steve seems to be slowing down a bit... Just like me! Haha!

If a good leader steps in hopefully we will see a new vision for the company that will help it push forward into the future. If I was running things I would keep trying to make all the products smaller and cheaper without losing the sexy.
