Until [Random House] execs heard warnings of possible violence over my book, the company had my book on the fast track to best-sellerdom. So they clearly had expected to make money from its publication." The most telling portion of Ms. Jones comments about is the sentence "...warnings of possible violence over my book..."
Are we then to assume that publishing companies may publish the most vile and contemptible rhetoric in the world; so long as there is not an indication of violence? May I suggest to the public that this is violation of "free speech", and indeed intimidation? Perhaps we all ought to intimidate publishing houses, and all of the media? Intimidation evidently is "freedom of speech."
What a shame, and a sham.
