The article above is an interesting read about what can be done in production to decrease food waste, but what stuck in my mind is the fact that 1/3 of all food waste is generated by consumers. So, it can make a big difference if we do our part at home.

There has always been those of us who prefer to portray ourselves in a better light (most of us), and then the few who share their raw self in a take it or leave it manner.

The "like, er, lie" economy is just the same old behavior facilitated by technology. Therefore extended to a much more vast community and spread thoughout a lot faster.

The only way this effects marketers is in a good way...

I have to agree. This discussion really doesn't involve all netizens anyway. We don't all aspire to break news before everyone else.

I personally prefer to use Twitter and Friendfeed when I'm trying to follow an event that I was not able to attend, and stick to Feedly/Google Reader and my feeds for my daily dose of news and commentary.

I have been playing with the new K2 component (http://k2.joomlaworks.gr/) for joomla 1.5. It actually seems like a very promising alternative to having to embed wordpress into joomla. Being a joomla component, K2 will use the template that you have chosen for your site, so there are no extra modifications necessary.

Although I'm at the other end of the spectrum.. I have built my clock, and it is running well, most of the time.. (hehe.. that last part is my separation anxiety, and my getting used to things getting done other peoples way) It definetly did not happen in a day. I'm in my 10th year now. Wow, thanks for the mention Ed... I'm returning to the discussion a little late.... Unfortunately I was busy... Oh wait, in this day and age that is a good thing, right?
When I read the comments, I couldn't help but hear the anxiety that I was mentioning in my previous comment... It's not a bad thing, just something to be worked on. Hell, I'm in no position to defend Ed's position, because I prefer to be behind the scenes as well.. I work on the systems and streamline the process... and have somebody else standout in front to do the talking.
And that is where the team work comes in to play.. We all have strengths and weaknesses... We should not let any form of public speaking get in our way....
On a personal note though... Although working with a team does work... I think I have been in hiding behind one... and it has been stunting my growth. I look forward to getting out there, and maybe even make a fool of myself sometimes... :-)

There are plenty of people who go through driving school, learn how to drive, and get their driver's license... Only to get defeated by the anxiety of going out in traffic, so they end up preferring not to drive ever... Is this success? I think not.... As someone who was there in the rows listening to Dan and Ed last September, seems like a century agoooo.., I think Ed hit it right on the head. I returned home concentrating only on one thing. Acquiring the discipline of creating content, and getting comfortable with it. Just like going out for a run, or getting on the treadmill every morning, it must become a habit... A habit that is a comfortable part of you :-)

Also, I believe it is true that you are touching the third rail Ed, I haven't purchased a single IM product since. I have produced more content than I had produced in the previous two years though.... Thanks Ed! The rest of last September's content was all bonus :-)

I have to agree that the keyboard is quite adequate. Mine doesn't fall asleep on me, but then I don't use XP. I prefer Ubuntu Linux. Best of all is the size. It is great to be able to walk around with a bag no bigger than a thin loose feaf... I love my eeePC!!!
I realize that we are on different operating systems, but I find that the Gimp is more than enough...
