This is an excellent statement. No state has a right to nuclear weapons and waving them around provocatively makes distinguishing this from action by Al Qaeda difficult to distinguish. People who advocate socialism should know better.

I think the editorial presents a balanced position by pointing to role of the US in provoking these types of escalations.

This issue is a failure of US foreign policy, and it will take a broad coalition of people to win a change in that policy. Having the sharpest slogans has always failed to move anyone on this issue. Let's try something new and unifying that moves than more than just the left. Besides, what does it hurt that you take 2 minutes to send this group's e-mail off to your member of Congress.

Again that is a misrepresentation of the issue. In stating your personal opinion, which you're welcome to do, you repeatedly have attacked individuals personally. That is sad. No one asks for an apology; only respect which they deserve and which we should all be able to freely give. Let's move on.

I have removed a comment from "nutmegsocialist" from this post because "nutmegsocialist" seems unable to discuss with anyone any topic in a rational or reasonable fashion. This post took a decisively disturbed and extremely personal turn that misrepresented the person "nutmegsocialist" took issue with. I have asked people to refrain from this before. If "nutmegsocialist" refuses to address others on the blog with respect, "nutmegsocialist"'s commenting privileges will be ended. There are plenty of other web sites where personal attacks are welcome and encouraged. Please take them there. And this goes for all who want to post comments or engage in debate. Let's not try to act like the people who we disagree with are our most dangerous enemies. Please refer to the "Posting Guidelines" in the sidebar for further assistance.
