Incorrect. Typically the DC National Guard can only be activated by the President. In this case, he has delegated that authority to SecDef, but that makes only 2 people. The DC mayor can request the DCNG, but she has ZERO authority to activate them.

Most all of you continue to only look at the surface. What you can see or hear doesn’t speak nearly as loud as what you can’t see or hear.

Some of you fair-weather patriots have gone from, “Rah, rah, TRUMP!” to some now implying that Trump might have been a part of all it to begin with. If you suddenly believe that, you’re definitely not paying attention to what’s going on.

Everyone always wants instant answers to their questions and fail to realize that sometimes those questions have to wait to be answered for our own safety and security.

Let’s hypothetically say that Trump had plans to use the military to take Biden, et al. into custody. Do you really think that it would be advertised ahead of time? I think not. I also think many people, to include many of our veterans (15-year vet here), don’t quite understand the very specific type of soldier that is there.

The DC National Guard can usually only be activated by one person: the President. Not the VP, the speaker of the house...nobody else. Now in this case, Trump has delegated the authority to SecDef, but those are the only two.

Unlike every other state’s guard units, the chain of command is much shorter. It goes from the Adjutant General straight to the SecDef and then to the President. They are the NG component of the President’s guard. Some will point out that there are Guard soldiers from other states. This is irrelevant to the point, since they’re placed under the command of the DCNG.

People need to take a deep breath and do some serious critical thinking. Remember that being a conservative doesn’t necessarily mean you’re smarter than everyone on the other side.

A very well written article, but I will point out that the notion of the War Between the States being fought over one major issue is patently false. The facts, which are readily available to anyone who can read or perform a Google search, say otherwise.

Beyond that, I like the map...but I think you would find that most of Virginia would break away from NOVA to become part of the new country, as would western MD, a large portion of PA, and much of WV.

I've been having trouble with getting push notifications for the last couple of days, and the Google Hangouts help forum is worthless. They keep telling people to make sure the volume is turned up, regardless of the fact that volume has zero to do with visual push notifications.

Even these two days later and I keep thinking back to Thursday with awe and wonderment. I think 343 of our brothers were smiling down on us. We will never forget them.

Time to leave a note on dirtyphonebook.com that you haven't followed through with leaving facebook yet. Kidding, kidding. That former was certainly a bit funny, but it still makes me wonder just where people come up with these ideas.

As for Facebook, I might consider killing my account once I'm done with my deployment, but right now it is just too easy to keep in touch with the most people at one time for me to kill it now.
