Linda....you ALMOST had me with the first two paragraphs. Then you HONKED again and I KNOW you are wrong. A chain is only as strong as its weakest link. Since I KNOW one of your links is broken, I call into question EVERYTHING you say. Why is Burke more authortative than any other Bishop? He isn't. Let God defend Himself. You are doing Him a great disservice in exaggerating beyond your knowledge and/or the truth.

Do you understand that I am not referring to liberal theologian but instead to teachers to our priests in our Diocese? My information is second hand but that is what I have been told. Regarding Canon 915, I will ask a Canon lawyer about it and get back to you later.

How do you know that a person has not gone to confession and confessed and repented of their sins prior to going to communion? The answer, you don't.

Oh.....but I live in San Diego (actually just outside of it.) We are one
big military base down here and hence the last conservative bastion in the

The weekends are all male and all female (the two are different in case you
hadn't realized....LOL ) Men are much more open among men and women among
women. Usually, the men attend first and then the women afterwards. That
is because it is the MAN that is most likely to bail out and they want both
spouses to be equally yoked....

Okay. I have some friends (priests) that are Canon Lawyers that studies in
Rome. I will ask them. But why is Bishop Burke any more authoritarian than
any other Bishop (other than the fact you agree with him?) I am not saying
I don't, but not everything is as black and white as you seem to think it
is.

Two comments.

(1) Please give me the section number and reference in Canon Law that you are referring to. In my past experience, I have seen that you have the tendancy to make vague references to Church teachings (this time Canon Law) that simply are not correct. When you provide the reference, I will then look it up and make my own judgment. What I agreed with was on the basis of a presentation made to all the priests/deacons in our Diocese. I will trust their judgment unless, of course, you can produce the reference that you are referring to. The last disagreement we had, I went to a person that teaches our priest in formaton and they fully agreed that what you were saying was not correct. So, your credibility with me is not great.

(2) Please see my comments about make a friend, be a friend and then bring that friend to Christ. You ALWAYS seem stuck in the mode of accusing and then trying to bring a sinner to Christ which in my mind (my opinion only) simply does not work. As you continue to accuse you are simply a clanging bell in the distance. Sorry.

Well said marcylee. Cursillo (CUR-SEE-O) is a movement in the Catholic Church that began in 1957 in Spain. It literally means "a short course." A Cursillo weekend is a short course in Christ for a weekend leading to a new way of life after. Try googling it and check it out. Check to see if they have a Cursillo movement in your area. It is also now active in other denominations (they like our Catholic ideas) and in prison under the name Kairos (meaning God's time.)

One thing I can say for certain in divorce. There are ALWAYS two sides to the story. The truth is usually somewhere in the middle. Many times when someone leaves you (in my case), it take a while for you to realize that your hands are dirty too.
