Wow, lefty? Really? How important is education? You get what you pay for and I want a decent group of teachers staffing my public schools. That is not unreasonable. I doubt your 1% comment. Regardless, what end of the scale do you think most people should be. I would think, in a civilized 1st world country, a teacher would make a good wage. They do work hard, 5 years or more just to get started. Many other careers out there pay better than a teacher straight out of university. These people have made a big investment in becoming a teacher, I have kids, this is a task not for the faint of heart. This negative brush that people have been painting teachers with is shameful.

I have been using this plugin for awhile now and it is great! I have noticed a difference in the frequency of new followers and incoming social traffic. Simple to use as well, I have tried so many different plugins trying to do this same job. This is clean, simple and works!

Interesting post JC,
My thought on this, if the information is such that a person may not have wanted the product/service had they known, then it should be disclosed. I think holding back information just to "sell" is just wrong. A good salesperson will not just sell, but ensure that the customer is well served, which would, of course, include disclosure of important details.

This looks like not a bad theme. I like Affiliate Theme for WP a bit more though. I am actually looking at this one and thinking (besides the color options) this would be easy to build for free. WP theme and a few plugins...

Since starting, my following is regularily growing (got to turn off that email notification thing) and I am finding more and more traffic is going to my site. In fact, I can often (with my small following) generate a hundred+ clicks to a page with one Tweet! How is that for power?

I generally RT links that I have followed and find either interesting or of value to my Internet Activities. I also will RT messages, quotes and such that I like. Basically to get me to RT, I need to see value/interest in what is there. It is often related to what I am into, web development, social marketing, Internet marketing, personal development, or sometimes simple mindless entertainment.

I like to use RT as a way to store tweets/links that I may want to revisit. When I RT another persons tweet, it is stored in my tweet history, making it easy for me to find these sites again. This also create a history for my followers as well. "What was that site again?? Oh yah @JeromyS tweeted about it".

Twitter is very simple if you keep it that way. I also like to use an app, TwitterGadget on my iGoogle page. Keeps access simple and quick.

I am sure it'll be a good series Jason. Twitter is Crazy!! who would have thought something so basic would be so explosive. Even the President of the USA has a Twitter account! I wrote a post about Twitter awhile back (http://hillbillydirect.com/.... Some interesting people to follow and an invite to share your twitter id for other followers. Twitter is pretty cool, anytime I stumble onto something, I can quickly share it with folks all over the place. Do a scan of other tweets and find all kinds of interesting links and info.

Google rocks free keyword research. I don't know why a person would bother paying for a high powered tool when you have so much power with Google. Google results are a very good indication of the entire search market. While there are other venues for keywords (yahoo, msn, wordtracker), Google is really all a person needs.

I think I agree with Melvin, in part. Generally speaking, Honesty and Integrity are still the best policy. Often, the 'relationship' is important to the prospective customer, but often times, the customers more interested in just the info (its presentation being more key) than building a relationship with the site/business.

None the less, if your info is garbage, it'll not be found of much use to anyone. I think a happy mix of both is prudent in most markets. Have an 'image' be honest and trustworthy, but also get to the point and tell the customer what they want to know.

This is the first time I have heard of this program. There was that big hype a little while ago about PPC Classroom, which I understand is quite good, is this similar, with a specialization to CPA? I have a few of your recommended tools and still use them frequently, so for those reading, this is probably a pretty darn good program and there aren't a lot of them around (still taking students). Certainly this is a business model that can be very profitable, pretty quickly, if you play your cards right. I have been doing some experimenting with Affiliate Espionage (previous post) and having a lot of fun. I am in the final stages of creating a targeted campain (search). As I go along, I see that the Content network is well worth exploring too.

So very True Cow, so true.

I have gigs and gigs of 'stuff'. I can still get caught up in the latest launch. It takes a bit of learned discipline to pick a course and stay the course. The online world is full on distractions. I have been trying to pre plan time on my computer and online. Before sitting down, decide what you intend to accomplish. Then sit down and do that first, before wondering off onto a different system, different project, ect.
Probably one of the biggest pieces of advice I recieved from Jeremy Palmer in his Black Ink Project. He said once you start implimenting your 'system' stop buying. You do not need every one of the latest launches. You'll empty the bank account and not make a dime back. You must work on one thing at a time, and complete each task/project before starting another.

Seems like simple advice, but in my experience, you have to work to stay focused.

I would have thought higher "personalization" would have been best. But the great thing about math, stats and numbers, they rarely lie to you. If this is the result you see, then one needs to give some serious thought into how to configure the capture....

This has been one of my most frustrating tasks, getting a good theme working on my blog, www.hillbillydirect.com I have spent hours and hours and days and days looking for the "right" theme. I am somewhat happy with the one I have now. But I can see some advantages with this one that I don't currently have, and are available on many themes out there.

Totally agree. I think we lose sight of "the big picture" sometimes when we are struggling to develop a profitable campaign. It can get frustrating, which may lead a person to make one of the mistakes mentioned above to try and get a higher CTR. Getting caught for just one of these violations of their TOS could have your account shut down, which means you lose all the work that you have into that account, including your honest work. So plain and simple, it is just not worth it. Rather, take time to look at your copy from the other side, as a potential 'clicker'. Have a friend review your copy. There are plenty of ads created that a surfer just can't help but click and they follow the rules. Persistence and patience, rework and retest, and retest some more and research....put in the time, and eventually you'll find the right copy and from there, its gravy!

Perfect topic for me as I am in the process of elearning Google Adwords marketing. It is interesting to differentiate between content and search. There are so many out there throwing ads through the system without even understanding what the content network is.

As you say, it is important to approach the content network quite differently. And if one does choose to use the content network, you should specify which sites you wish your ads to show, otherwise Google will decide (based on your keywords). While Google is a pretty darn smart machine, you can optimize your campain better by selecting your sites to advertise on yourself. Some good ones are article sites, such as Enzine.

A good rule of thumb when first entering PPC is to turn the content network off until you have become comfortable with it. Once there, study and impliment the content network seperately and carefully. Done Right, PPC is the Fastest way to Make cash online.
