Has anyone given any thought to the fact that maybe, just MAYBE he didnt do anything wrong in this particular case? Im sure there are few men out there who can agree that some women will do whatever they can for attention or to cause chaos in a mans life. Just look at some of the lengths your exwives/exgirlfriends have gone.

But then again that may require some of you to think beyond what the media feeds you.

What exactly is that system? Suspension? They are giving the children exactly what it is that they want. The point I was trying to make is that the system they have in place is not effective.

For instance, that analogy I used before about the thief: If he/she were awarded your belongings every time they broke into your house what initiative would they have to stop the behavior?

The punishment needs to be something they don't like, something that is not "rewarding."

In order for the children to be a productive member of society they first need a proper education. Unfortunately there are children in our schools who just simply do not care what type of future they have, nor do their parents but legally every child must attend school. So if they HAVE to be there then there needs to be some sort of accountability for the problem children who make it difficult for the children who do actually want to be there.

Sending the problem children to an alternative school is not the answer because then we have an entire school filled with unruly kids.

Punishment.

Because suspending a student for disrupting the class and/or other students is not effective. You are simply giving them a mini vacation to spend time away from a place they didn't want to be in the first place.

It is not up to me to decide what exactly that punishment is, that is something the school board and parents whos children attend these schools need to work out but maybe bringing back the switch wouldn't be such a bad idea.

Imagine if there were no punishments for breaking into peoples homes and taking things that did not belong to you... do you really believe that politely asking the person to stop is going to be effective? Absolutely not. They need to fear the punishment in order to stop the misbehavior.

Then the teachers need the permission to reprimand these students in a more effective way without the fear of being sued or loosing their jobs.

To some extent, yes, that is a qualification they must have. What we also have to remember is that we the people have elected these officials so at the end of the day we only have ourselves to blame. This is another reason why it is so important to thoroughly research ALL of the canidates at election time.

How sweet would it be to have a single mother (OR father) who lives on a very fixed income with NO government or political experience run for office? Step in and show em' all how a budget REALLY works!

Exactly!
Not only do I pay in Social Security but I also have to put more money away for myself because there is NO doubt that by the time I need it, it will no longer be available. It wouldn't bother me so much if our government didn't use the money as a savings account and it was used for its intended purpose.
