I am having the exact same problem right now. Your chat transcript and mine are almost identical. I've had an infection once before and was able to clean it up with my non-techie self by following the list they provided. Now, however, it's a hard sell for Sitelock and I just get the feeling I'm being scammed. It is extortion.
My Wordpress blogs are dormant and have been locked down since the last infection. I am keeping them for 'just in case' I want to go back to blogging, but I don't want to pay the ransom Bluehost is asking for.

We haven't tried IHOP at Home Syrups yet, but we do love their syrups at the restaurant!

Thanks for posting this. I received their email and same thing happened. I gave them a high price and they immediately accepted. I got suspicious when I found out you have to install their plugin so I did a quick Google search and landed here. Thanks!

That is really sweet! Thanks for sharing. I miss those times with my daughters. Now I am hoping they will go back to these times that they are older and living so far away from each other.

I'm a lurker. I click on links and read articles and sometimes even share them on twitter or facebook, but I don't always leave comments especially if it's already well commented like this one. You're right on with your advice though and I should do it more often. Doing it now :)

All good tips Toni, but I think "Make an effort to look good, even when you’re just at home." is one that is very important and often most neglected. It's amazing how much happier everyone is when momma feels good about herself :)

I would never think of them as vermin. They are probably smarter than the people who think they are vermin :)
