Nah, very few comments on Buffy series these days (maybe considered too old for the fickle instant gratification generation?) so I reckon it's just laziness, thinking that the current teeny boppers wouldn't know what Buffy, Angel or Spike were if they tripped over them in an open grave on top of the Hellmouth ;)

Yep, enjoyed watching The Waters of Mars but it just felt...wrong; completely agree the whole "Timelord Victorious" thing was too out of character, too forced, the whole plot seemed to be mere background to spotlight a character flaw in the Doctor to lead towards the ringing of the Cloister Bell, the Ood prophecy,etc.

Haven't seen this ep yet but the 3rd ep was running true to scripting cliche form and ticking all the boxes ...
African-American character a bad/poor/uneducated/barely-staying-out-of-gaol dude - check.
Dr Rush unlikeable leader AND son of blue collar worker made good on a scholarship - double check.
Lou Diamond Phillips character has nfi what to do except go strictly by the book- check.
A priest who drank himself to death AND selflessly brought up an orphan who was destined for the priesthood but failed the jump - triple check.
If I can start to predict the storyline/script I'm switching the channel to watch paint dry.

OT - The Spouse and offspring went to Armageddon sci-fi con today, was excellent I'm told!
