99% of users with this pic profile will never need the LUT.
Technicolor included one in their download and references it in their
user guide. While all the information they post is correct, I believe
that a lot of people will think they need it to use the profile. And
as we've all seen with this DSLR revolution, there's a lot of
misinformation on the web and a "shoot first, ask questions later"
attitude.

I agree. This is great stuff. While there are no workflow guidelines
we do have broadcast and d-cinema standards that define the final
result. The best workflow is the one determined from the get go and
followed through the pipeline. Love it man, thanks for the response.

Not alone at all! LUTs are pretty basic once you get the premise of them. Most circumstances never require them.

Yeah, the AF-100 is purely a DSLR replacement. I'm not in the least bit
interested- no 10bit, no 422 HDMI out.

Workflow at frame rates higher than 60 is kind of a pain though and not just
from the storage/data rate standpoint, but applications like grading and
audio- the 24p workflow is so solid you can work with that without much
headache.

Avid's Project folder default is in your Documents folder. The Shared folder
will be under your all users shared- Win and Mac vary.

Thanks Patrick! I like HDV just fine from a coloring perspective although I find it does breakdown quicker although I suppose that's due to mostly being low and fixed bitrates.

With my producer hat on, I HATE the amount of motion artifacts in HDV.

Back to my colorist hat: I've been really impressed with the amount of information contained in DVCProHD stuff- out of this current doc (XDCam, DVCProHD, HDV, H264;DSLR), I'll take the DVCProHD stuff- not sure how much that is due to camera operator awesome-ness though which I also assume that plays a huge role.

I think the in-camera quality is on par with the rest of the competition- not really rising above it by itself (although that 35mm sensor does wonderful jedi mind-tricks on a guy :D)

Haha no...not trip over there soon. C-mount isn't annoying because you can get any mount you want: PL, IMS, C, etc. If you have IMS, you can run EF lenses all day...Nikon with EF adapters etc. C mount glass is cheap and readily available on Ebay currently. LOTS of cool options there.
It's a RAW digital negative format so it's a best as you can get. You can move it to Cineform if you want with ease. I love the form factor- everything you need and nothing you don't. It might the perfect doc cam, even more understated and certianly sexier even than a RED.
