I've arranged several AMAs on reddit before! In general these days, it works best to have the AMA on a subreddit that's most relevant to the topic. Mine were with medical researchers, so we worked with r/science, but I've seen them in more specific communities for things like video games, movies, etc.

Once you identify the subreddit, it's best then to message the moderators with your proposal, who you represent, what the timeframe is, and why you think this will be a good fit. This will also be a good time to see if they've done previous AMAs and how those went. If they give you the green light, you're good to go. You'll need to figure how the logistics, make sure your expert knows how to use reddit, and a plan to promote before the big day. Good luck!

1. Worst Movie: Transformers 4. I don't know why I watched all three hours of that.
2. The Secret Agent by Joseph Conrad. It's dense, hard to follow, and doesn't have nearly the same gravitas of Heart of Darkness. I had to read it for an opera I was premiering.
3. Gmail. It's great for my personal email, but misery for my work.
4. "Circle back." - Just say you wanted to check-in.
5. I gotta agree with Whitney below on the #blessed thing.
6. The "Thanks for signing up for our all of our emails for all eternity" when I just spent $5 on a knick knack that was cheaper at your store than everywhere else.

Not to be a wet blanket, but how can we say Twitter is having "massive" growth when Twitter only added 4 million new users worldwide between Q3 2014 and Q4 2014?

There's a lot of great research here, but those audience estimates miss the mark compared to the facts.

Bad news - I don't think you can switch back to the old wall from the timeline. I know, boo.

You think you have it bad with the timeline because you have words with friends on there? I had EVERYTHING from all 4 years of college. That included my first wall post from a friend, reading "SHOW ME YOUR BOOBS." I know my clients loved that one.

But to your greater point, while I think Facebook could have done a better job with the news feed and ticker updates, they've already done a lot to promote the change coming with the timeline. They had a conference explaining it. They've had a bunch of earned media. They haven't even switched it on for the general user base yet yet, and who knows what exactly they will do as they change it.

I'm not going to defend every change and Facebook, because lord knows for every one thing I like there are ten I hate. But with an 800 million member platform, no matter what changes they make, they'll never make everyone happy. They have to play a very delicate game balancing user, business, advertisers, app developers, and their own interests.

It's hasty to say it's the timeline that's causing the decline in impressions because it hasn't been rolled out to the entire user base yet. Facebook prioritizes posts in real time on Facebook, versus those scheduled or posted from a third party service.

If anything, I think it's the new tops news versus recent news. Additionally, Facebook is prioritizing user actions. Just look at how much emphasis is now placed on apps and what how users post with them. There's a lot to pay attention to over the next few weeks and months as this all changes.

It's funny. I have multiple filters. The Jay Dolan on LinkedIn has acompletely different filter than the Jay Dolan blogging on The Anti-Social Media.

I suppose there should be one unified persona of all this (a personal brand, if you will), but I'm multiple things to multiple people. I act different ways around different people. That's how I'll always be.

And if anyone makes me try to filter things I don't want to filter, they're going to get it with a smack int he face.

I just got back from vacation, and I wish I turned off more. I enjoyed not having the constant battle over my email, or the obligation to answer every tweet and Facebook message. I wish I could do it more.

We all need to get away from the digital world more often. Real life is full of cool things when we step away from our screens.

I've called people out once when I was asked to review a product and the result was terrible. I would probably never do it again, unless I knew the person and they begged me on the phone. It just isn't worth it to me to get everyone's panties in a bunch because I don't like something and write in my usually flamboyantly over the top style.

So, when I refer to things that I see that I dislike or I want to call out, I have to refer to that person or event in general rather than the specific. It's too much for me to deal with the fanboys and the asshats who don't get me, or realize that I'm just one person on the internet who has a very limited influence.

I'm a big fan or Argyle Social. It is pricey, but it gets the job done well, and it lets me do a lot of analytics wizardry to measure that all important ROI. Also, the team is just plain awesome.

The 3DS really just needs more games. The current library is small, and doesn't have any "must buy" games that people want. Most people I know didn't get excited about the DS until the DS Lite came out along with New Super Mario Bros.
