You have a good point. I guess early adopters are familiar with the risks involved. But to me it feels like you're putting a lot of effort into something that, if it turns out to be a trend, you know won't last.

In some cases, a standard plain-text email will be suitable. But we shouldn't all have to settle for that.

I don't want to have a full webpage for an email, email templates for Academia.edu are simple. Very simple. But even creating a simple HTML layout isn't as painless as it should (or could) be.
