I guess this list is the online equivalent :) Thanks for providing the list by the way, it's great inspiration when speaking to my clients.

Re: Internet Explorer 8

Hey Shruti - very relevant points. Firstly - do you work for Microsoft.....as the fan base for Microsoft apps seems to be dwindling these days. Though based on your feedback above, perhaps that is set to change.

I think many people have been tainted by Microsoft's unstable previous releases, not only for browsers, but for all applications. I actually find the Crash Tab Recovery quite ironic - most other browsers don't crash anywhere near as much for me as IE7 did, I'm hoping this has been fixed in IE8.

Google Chrome has a similar feature for recovering your browsers tabs from previous sessions (you simply need to change one of the default settings, and then it will always "save" your session regardless of whether you closed the browser intentionally or something went awry).

Re: Hema Online Store: Adding personality to standard ecommerce sites

Hey Andy - that's a good question. Some would argue that an increase in the number of visitors to a website has to have a positive effect on sales, through the sheer magnitude of traffic passing by....however if the visitors are not interested in the product, then it doesn't matter how good the viral campaign is, sales will not increase significantly. I guess it comes back to always providing consumers with products that are popular, useful and affordable, and then building the viral campaigns to match!

Re: ShrinkTheWeb Website Thumbnail creator plugin for Wordpress

I'm using Pic Donkey the most - it seems to queue and load the thumbnails quite quickly in comparison to some of the other plugins, and is very easy to use (once installed, you just add an extra tag around any URL you want converted to a thumbnail - simple!).

I wrote a bit more about Thumbnail creator on this post http://www.breadmilkdigital...

Re: Register for Twitter or risk your business missing out

Hey there - I totally agree, I don't that the public perception of Twitter is mature enough to rely on people typing in your Twitter URL to find your Twitter page. Actually, having said that - will it ever be mature enough - just look at the number of people who use Google to find company websites!

So yes, the best way to ensure your target audience can find and follow you on Twitter, in my opinion, is to add a "Follow Me on Twitter" link to your site. Anyone out there disagree?

Re: Wordpress plugin for displaying actual website thumbnails

No probs at all, I'm always happy to help. Just so you know, www.shrinktheweb.com has also just come out with a similar plugin to the PicDonkey one that I mentioned - I haven't tested it yet, but it also might be worth checking out. If you do try it, let me know how you go....

Re: Wordpress plugin for Archives page

I have an archive page purely for web usability reasons. I find that there are still many people out there who do not know how to navigate within a blog, so by putting an archives link in the top navigation bar, it gives these people a more 'traditional' and familiar method of navigating through the articles on your blog.
