And you handled the one naysayer with lots of good info and class. Stick to your guns, friend. If it was easy, everybody'd be doing it.
~Cindy
www.jacobsreward.blogspot.com

Re: So Tired

Glad you got home safe, Susie - as Susanne said, we're coated in ice today and schools are closed. You got out just in time! Thanks again for all your help!
~Cindy
www.jacobsreward.blogspot.com

Re: Necessity is the Mother of Invention

I'm a fall colors kind of gal, so sometimes I have to really stretch - how about fucia and teal? Or some good autumn golds and rusts ;-). Oops - I backslid.

Re: Book Recommendations

OK. I can't think of a good joke right now. So I'm going to recite a knitting poem I wrote; it's about socks and, hopefully, a little bit funny:

Now I sit me down to knit,
And try to concentrate a bit.
If I should die before I'm through,
You'll get one sock instead of two.

Re: The Book of Yarn

I've been completely engrossed with the James Herriot books on CD, read by Christopher Timothy, the English actor who played the good doctor on the BBC series. He is absolutely outstanding - doing every kind of British accent imaginable, and communicating all the love the author had for the Yorkshire Dales (where sheep were invented, BTW), and the farmers and animals who populated the area. I listen over and over while I'm spinning in my studio. Ear candy. Try some. No, go on--just one....

Re: Homesick

I know what you mean about chores, Susie. I took a 5 day vacation in August to go the east coast for my niece's wedding and everyone commented about how nice it must feel to me to be free of the 2x daily round of animal chores, and I kind of enjoyed it. But I also missed it. I was very happy to get home and scritch all the soft noses as I feed the greedy beasts.

My second favorite hobby is animal chores. Really. And collecting eggs.

Re: Winners! It would be fun to dye the yarn to match and make the adult version for the Momma-to-be ;-).

Easy sweater (so I might finish it), and a great project. The cormo would be heaven to wear.
