Good for you Toni! It's great to know that there are men out there taking initiative and using condoms every time. I would agree that those vending machine condoms are better than nothing, and I've seen a few vending machines that sell real Trojan condoms and other brand names. However the big unknown is whether they are old and stale or ready to use. The best bet is to have a few condoms stocked up from your local drug store. Al, I would agree that education is the best approach to the problem of teen pregnancy. However I don't think there is any reason to educate a 5-year-old about anything sexual. As for a 9-year-old, the best policy is to answer questions honestly, yet with age appropriate verbiage (i.e. sex makes babies). Once in junior high and high school it's so very important for the child to have an open line of communication with parents (and if for some reason the parents are unavailable--communication with a responsible adult whether that be at school or even church) so that they can have their questions answered honestly and realistically. They need to be able to approach their budding sexuality responsibly. As a child of abstinence only "education" I can say candidly and fervently that IT DOES NOT WORK.
