What is there are folks like myself who want to develop about 15000 new browsers just for fun? I want to do just that! Why should developers have all the fun.

I don't think there are enough browsers to choose from. Honestly, with only thirty browsers to choose from, I feel like I'm living in 1936 Moscow with the same old choices about browsers.

I want to be able to develop and choose from 15000 different browsers.

I'm the ULTIMATE browser geek.

I have noticed several new Twitter users in the past month. They are spammers. It's easy to see this because they have totally nonsensical names, no avatar, no background image other than the default, and they are following about 979 tweeps but only have made a few updates. Usually, their follower count is rising pretty fast, at least for a newcomer.

I have a couple theories.

One, I think some new Tweeps try to game Twitter. They try to follow anywhere from a thousand to a couple thousand tweeps, hoping for instant follow-backs so they can quickly build an "audience".

Two, same as above, but with a twist: Once they build up about a hundred or so "followers", they spam those "followers" with products. I have noticed that a few of these new Twitter spammers have "websites" that are massive selling pages for instant wealth-building schemes and other junky nonsense.

I don't mean to be so negative, but I AM getting tired of getting these "followers" who are in fact spamming the Twitter community.

Twitter is wising up though. Lately I have noticed that these spammers are getting suspended, often within a couple of hours after they "follow" me.

There is NO WAY I am going to follow them! I don't want to be spammed with insistent requests to buy a "product" I don't need.

I only follow tweeps I can learn from so I can advance my developing knowledge of social media, PR, marketing, SEO, and blogging, among other topics.

Alek: Consider using Google Reader. Find a hundred blogs that you're interested in following, then check up on them every day or so. GR is very easy to use, it's easy to add blogs to it and you can share blog articles anytime you like, and that feed can be imported to FriendFeed and other social media outposts.

Times will get real tough for a while, but we are Americans and WE SHALL WEATHER THIS CRISIS. We've been through hard economic times before and we've gritted our way through those.
