TA, no offense but dude, get a grip! Charlie made an idiotic error! Was he evil, I doubt it! Stupid, sure. Enough to disqualify him from the job? The voters will make that call.

Vop's error was misreporting about $16K in campaign contributions. Stupid, yes. Evil, I doubt it.

Voter ID has never bothered me. Show your card and shut up!

I don't blame the Ds for the outcry, that's politics. But I always tell people don't get too excited or too upset. The universe always has a way of evening things out.

I agree. It's an amateur error. But like you wrote on your blog, which where I got part of the original idea, if you can't get the message out to the voters, good luck. And Vop's error was one of campaign finance reporting.

I wasn't wrong on the budget. The city had to get initial budget requests from the different agencies and department heads. I'm working on a blog post about what each agency requested and what was finally submitted. Because I knew it was going to take a while before they got everything reconciled.

TA, I appreciate the thoughts. However, I have served on some public boards before. Fall Creek Academy for the GEO Foundation, Todd Rokita's Voter ID panel back in '06 and I'm on the faculty at two schools here. I have always been a firm believer in full disclosure and the public can make up their own minds. In addition, this gives a voice to people who may not know where to go. And if gets to be more trouble than it's worth, I'll tender my resignation. And we're back to normal.

You don't need to have all of it follow the student, it could be a portion. If it's $8K per year to educate a student and a kid can get out early, why not give their family half of it and put it towards post-secondary education. The school isn't totally lost. In fact, they're coming out ahead because they're getting money for a student that isn't there.

You are the last person to talk about what someone doesn't understand. I will gladly argue that money generated from downtown should be used for Indy needs first and let these other small counties pay for their own projects out of their own county coffers.

I've been threatened by experts! :-) Plus, the biggest inside joke is that Lacy has been organizing these guys for a while and everyone who's connected knows it. There are a group of Democratic insiders who think Treacy is a bumbling clown who won't be sticking around much longer and Lacy is angling for the top spot. And by the way, if Illinois politicians don't scare me, I don't worry about the ones from Indiana.

TA, I agree everyone has the right to voice their opinion. However, I take issue when someone tries to claim they've been around forever when the facts clearly indicate otherwise. maybe Lacy Johnson should do a better job of coaching these guys.
