Great article, very informative.

You provide one command as gcloud compute instance describe "<instance_name>" --zone "<zone_name>"
but that doesn't work...it should actually be gcloud compute instances describe "<instance_name>" --zone "<zone_name>"

Keep King Barton, Xia, Kamath and Demon Hunter, the rest can be used for fodder if you really must. Although you're better off playing the long game. Don't fodder decent heroes when you're just starting out, unless you have a really good reason.

I bought two sets of Franmara Steel Ice Cubes based on this test. We'll see how accurate it is. A number of people on Amazon say that the Franmara Steel Ice Cubes do nothing.

What's interesting is that this same battle is being played out with iOS devices and Android, with Apple getting a bit of a nod so far on security.

As for the desktop war, Apple might have won with a certain sector of people (coders, graphics designers, photographers, artists, etc.), it has begun to lose the war on malware. Plenty of Macs were found to be part of a recent huge botnet, so the days of security through obscurity are over for OS X.

As for the server space, it isn't even funny. Linux has taken that over big time and will only continue to do so as long as Microsoft's patch management process is such an abject failure.

And my experiences are quite different. I have been working as a Windows IT person for many years and switched to IT security in 2005. I know the tools to secure and clean Windows servers and desktops far better than I do Linux (never mind OS X, it's just not for me right now because of price), but I'm learning and tools like Puppet together with Splunk are making it actually possible to secure a Linux enterprise, vs Windows? Not so much as of yet. (Yes, there are Windows versions of each, but the whole isn't nearly as great as it is on Linux systems.)

Heh, whoa there...I don't think anyone will make a tool that will make this surly lot happy. :)

As for Facebook, yeah, they'd have to change it a lot for it to be useful and I'd have to change how I use it too for it to be anything like friendfeed.

Right now I'm subscribed to way too many random people on Facebook who play Facebook games for it to be useful.

My rather muddy crystal ball says you'll have to wait 2 to 3 years. But that's just a best conservative guess based on how long it took DVD players to get down to that price.

I'd recommend waiting for Oppo to come out with a Bluray player, though. http://www.oppodigital.com

They are well known in home theater circles as the company that comes out with top notch players for less. Their DVD players are pretty much the best you can buy for any price and their most expensive is $400, but kicks the butts of players that are 5 times more expensive.

You'd probably have to wait at least 3 years to get a Nintendo system with Bluray drive. One of the main points of the Wii was design it to keep overall cost down to a price point that drives sales. It's one reason why it's been so successful despite a lack of content and last gen hardware specs in many ways.

If you like simpler games and simpler more easy to use control schemes, then I suggest you get a Wii. It's worth it just for Mario Kart.

But yeah, the console will never be very good for certain types of games, like the Diablo style of games or RTS style games, where a mouse really is needed.
