Those aren't investors buying rental properties. Supply is down, demand is up and basically prices are stable.

By the way, Dr. Yun is the keynote speaker at our mid year residential market update. Or willl that actually be you.

Re: The REALTOR Rally and the Desperate Need For A New Political Action Paradigm

Rob, just to throw a little truth with humor into the conversation, Realtors rank just slightly above members of Congress at the bottom of the most trusted and respected professions. It seems to me that both the NAR and Congress could do a better job of explaining exactly what we do to a skeptical public.

Re: The Dual Agency Mythology

Excellent as always JD. And one of the things I really enjoy about reading your posts is that I have to get out the dictionary when you come up with words like *gainsay*.

And as a Charleston *foodie*, the biggest problem is that there are simply too many great restaurants to choose from and its difficult to get back to your favorites.

But my big takeaway from the event is that real estate is still a relationship business. As an example, Sue recommended an agent for you to use in Houston, enough said.

Re: Indigestion | The Reformed Broker

I don't know what happened in Cleveland or Newark but apparently Wal Mart customers in Cali were pepper spraying to gain a better position in line.

Re: Coach Erickson, I Can Help

Ha, too funny. It's projected to help only 800,000 to 1 million. What about the many millions of others who might like to refinance and don't qualify for this. Unfortunately as a result, it will probably be just as dismal a failure as all the other previous programs.

Re: Sounds of Silence

As a youngster coming up on my 5 year blogiversary with just over 1500 posts I feel your pain. The reason that I ask is that our forms changed several years ago so that the listing agent couldn't hide a low offer of compensation from their seller in order to try to get both sides of the transaction.

L'shana Tova.

Re: The Most Expensive Home in Phoenix

Charleston's got you beat by $1 million with a lovely abode in the historic district offered at $23 million.

Re: Should Real Estate Be More Sheepskin-Based?

Rob, a little food for thought. I have a college degree so I guess I'd make Michael's cut but raising the bar will not happen until brokers stop adding agents by using the "fog the mirror" approach and focus on selecting quality people who don't treat real estate as either part time income or a hobby and then train them. I don't see it happening anytime soon.

By the way, I'm sorry I missed you in Charleston a while back, I didn't catch your post until too late to join you at the Hominy Grill. But basically, it would be nice if it worked that way but mortgages simply don't. The loan is on a house, it isn't transferable to another even with your good intentions of rolling your deficit over to the new home. I noticed you have also applied for a loan mod, please don't give anyone any money who promises to help you, they are basically scams.
