He is confusing the aid America provided to Haiti, nonetheless under "Republican" administration and House, to the "immediate" disaster relief program. People are perishing by 1000's every day and all this big mouth can spout is to sophomorically sweep an meritorious action under his ideological pap. Unbelievable.

This is simply an attempt in exhaustive sophistry to pain someone as radical when evidence and circumstance do not support such claim. Read the entire transcript and you realize that she actually presented her survey and the subsequent analysis with integrity.

The entire accusatory-laden article here cannot find a shred of evidence to support the underlying, yet not lucidly communicated, foible to Mogahed's presentation. As a matter of fact, the author desperately resorts to a mindless "even though she didn't say that, but STILL..." reasoning to pander to one's confirmation bias. I do not know how many buses were utilized to usher the attendees to the rally but I"m guessing somewhere between 200 and 300 (it's a total random guess, don't take my words for it). The majority appears to come by their own.

I'm being cursed and marginalized by the right for taking the number too low and hammered by the left for calculating it too high. What a predicament. What boggles me the most are the folks who so passionately cling to unrealistic numbers above 1.5 or 2 million. Once you get deep into their trenches of thought processing, the anomaly rears its ugly head. A comprehension of placing 2 million souls in a confined area less than 1.3 million sqft is beyond any rational response. It defies logic: 0.65 sqft for each person. You can't even implant that many bamboo sticks in that spot.

I did not choose a marching meter-counting strategy nor the differential number in transportation numbers methodology precisely because they pose an unreliable deductive assessment with the given parameters. First of all, there were several other small events concurrently playing out on the same day around the Mall area so one must take into account how many visitors or attendees had used the transit system for purposes other than the Tea Party rally.

Second, the organizers had rolled in 100's of buses -- which you did not include in your conjecture -- for the event. Even if you consider 70k increase in public transportation numbers, you have to consider all the people who rode either a bus or drove themselves to the event. We simply don't have enough information to make a sound evaluation base on the given data, hence the reason I entirely forgo of such plans.

Hah, are you kidding me. That's not even 100k. I used to work in D.C., actually 4 blocks from Willard hotel which probably where the camera is mounted. From the Reagan building to the congress is no more than 10-12 blocks and if the marchers only covered the Pennsylvania ave., then it's probably somewhere around 80k, tops.
