The case of humans as the advanced society comes up over and over again in the Star Trek universe, think Prime DIrective.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;More interestingly, the case where humans are on the short end of the technology stick can be seen in the Twilight Zone episode: "To Serve Man" and in Clarke's novel: "Childhood's End" for example.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;In your highlighted text you have the word "interact" whereas elsewhere (and in your title) you have "intervene." There is a difference here. "Intervene" suggests to me that you would be willing to use force. Is this what you mean?&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;If so, that would have interesting implications whatever end of the technology stick we find ourselves on.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;/p&gt;</description><dc:creator xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/">HiroSheridan</dc:creator><pubDate>Sun, 05 Oct 2008 16:42:18 -0000</pubDate></item></channel></rss>
