The case of humans as the advanced society comes up over and over again in the Star Trek universe, think Prime DIrective.</p><p>More interestingly, the case where humans are on the short end of the technology stick can be seen in the Twilight Zone episode: "To Serve Man" and in Clarke's novel: "Childhood's End" for example.</p><p>In your highlighted text you have the word "interact" whereas elsewhere (and in your title) you have "intervene." There is a difference here. "Intervene" suggests to me that you would be willing to use force.
