Two books: The Reason for God by Timothy Keller, and the Case for Christ. by Lee Strobel. Every Atheist should read them if they want to be able to say that they made a fair and informed decision to reject Christianity. Many very smart atheists, or people questioning their faith, consider the facts and philosophical "truths" discussed in these books, and decide that the evidence supports believing in Christ. Devoted Christians (I'm not talking about people who go to church a couple times a year to make their parents happy, or because they are upholding a tradition) are some of the most critical thinkers out there. They like to think deeply about difficult subjects. Jesus was a great example of someone who was constantly getting himself into trouble for challenging people to think for themselves and not just go along with religious burdens created by hypocritical men. If you've already read these books, there isn't much I can say to change your mind. God be with you =)

The Cameron haters are funny. Not saying that he is God's gift to cinema, or that every person has to love his movies, but come on, he consistently destroys at the box office with every movie. He some how finds a way to push technology beyond anything anyone has dared to attempt. Why are is his movies so successful? Not if they are "crap". They are extremely well executed. Even if every script may not be totally original, they make sense (unlike some of Ridley Scott's gorgeously shot nonsense), and his movies resonate with people and transport them out of the real world for a couple hours. If his movies were flawed enough to label as crap, they would die like "Valerian"...a beautiful, often exciting movie, with a bad script and poor cast chemistry. The length of time to produce is also a good thing. It means he waited until he knew he could do it right...right scripts, perfected technology, and an industry that turns out pretty incredible effects like it is no big deal, and is ready to be wowed by something special again. Cameron always goes over budget, and takes his time, because he is a perfectionist. It seems to work for him.

Everyone thought Titanic would bomb when it went way over budget. Avatar had all of it's doubters and haters. He was a nobody when he pulled off Terminator. Aliens and Terminator 2 were the most expensive and technically challenging movies of their time. Cameron defies movie logic. Like it or not, his storytelling strikes a chord with mainstream America, he creates characters that people connect with, and he avoids glaring plot holes and ludicrous character logic unlike other hit or miss visionary masters like Ridley Scott. His actors always deliver too. Luc Besson tried something similar with Valerian by investing huge $ and writing future sequels (amazing effects and concepts), but the writing was clunky, and the lead actor had absolutely no chemistry with his co-star. Cameron doesn't make those mistakes. He's a perfectionist and makes sure everything is perfect before cranking up the production machine. It won't be lightning in a bottle, but the movies will make insane money and we will prbably be watching 3d without glasses by time 3 and 4 roll out.

"Prison Break" was a great show and prisons offer great settings for movies...but it still doesn't make sense to me for Avatar 2 considering Cameron swears that the sequels will make us crap ourselves with our mouths wide open". Nice thought on the underwater prison though Jim =)

Not impressed with the poster at all and he should have no chance if he wasn't allowed to share that info. A prison theme makes no sense to me, considering it was the expansive environments and world/creature building which had many fans obsessively returning for multiple viewings. Everyone is eagerly anticipating the major underwater stuff which has been pretty much promised too. I know they have three movies to get all that in, but a prison theme doesn't make sense to me for part 2. With that said, with Cameron directing, I know all three movies will be amazing.

The trailer for this was pretty awesome in 3D. Especially amazing when you realize that the towers and 1970's NYC was all 1's and 0's!

No desire to review Jupiter Ascending? You seem busy these days...making movies instead blogging about them as much ;) The movie was quite the spectacle! It obviously had it's flaws, but man, those action sequences were pretty amazing and I enjoyed the 3D especially when they were hanging, flying and falling around the buildings. Hopefully the global market can gain back some of their loss, otherwise, it may be awhile before we see another epic adventure from the Wachowski's!

I was underwhelmed with Godzilla. I'm a big fan since the 70's so maybe my hopes were too high. I also watched Spiderman in 3D first, so I could have been a little tired during Godzilla. I think my main issue was that I was expecting one more surprise chapter before the end. They build the anticipation nicely and you get a decent amount of carnage out of the MUTO's before Godzilla really comes on the scene, but once they started to throw down in San Fran, I expected more. I really expected one more epic battle, and then the movie ended. I felt like the audience in general had the same feeling...no clapping, just kinda, "oh, it's over"? You're right about Johnson too...didn't connect. The 3D didn't really add much to the movie for me either. Now Spiderman....loved it! The 3D was really fun - definitely feel like I got my money's worth. I'm surprised by the harsh review on this site, I really enjoyed it and was very entertained.

TOTALLY AGREE about the image...very odd choice. I thought maybe it was a hoax...looks like the old school suit, and the building looks kinda cardboardish too. In a weird way, I'm excited because it is the Godzilla we grew up loving - not iguanazilla. I'm not too worried, all the other footage has looked awesome.

No...ah thank you. It may have been interesting if it had a different title and was reinvented as an artsy sci-fi movie based loosely on the story of Noah. The different take on the ark is cool though. Sorry...really not trying to pick a fight =)

I really liked the 3D at the end when he is floating in the water. Oh, btw, the Spiderman trailer (which had a few extra scenes than the normal one I've seen online) was INSANE in 3D!!! Gonna be a super crazy summer for movies...Godzilla, Spidey, Jupiter Rising, Transformers, X-Men, Planet of the Apes, Gardians otG, Maleficent, Edge of Tomorrow (is that 3D?). Transcendence and Lucy look kinda cool too (probably will wait for video though).

Totally agree on the story front...was really impressed with the overall quality of the movie. Until you mentioned it, I really didn't think about the peril being too big for Cap and friends. Your points make sense though, I just didn't think about it while watching the movie. I did tell a friend today that the scale of the movie itself was right up there with Avengers.

Physical attributes and athleticism only can take you so far. Jones fights with intelligence, technique, creativity and heart. His size and length are advantages only because he makes them an advantage. Plenty of fighters have gifts but they don't always use them to their advantage, or they break mentally. You have to respect the dominance and consistency of Jones.

Loved the first movie...his duel with the arrogant young master is such a fun, classic style kung fu fight and his revenge fight against the ten Karate students is the opposite...blistering, painful, and....oh yeah, AWESOME!! The 2nd movie was alright, but I wasn't astounded. Movies like this make me crave a 3D monitor and 3D movie streaming. I love this genre, but not enough to drive to a theater and pay for a 3D ticket =(

It's funny to see Peter right next to a hobbit without any forced perspective or FX. He is small to begin with, but I'm used to a hobbit looking tiny compared to everyone else in pictures, so it makes Peter seem even smaller =)

Can't wait to see Pandora's oceans!!! Ocean cinematography is beautiful to begin with and it offers some of the best 3D you can experience. Pandoran ocean life in 3D will give Cameron that new environment to wow us once again with stuff nobody has attempted on screen before =) I bet some of that new software they are working on has something to do with it ;)
