I found it interesting that FOX News' Liz Trotta commented that much of the "liberal media" had at least some foundation for the criticisms of Palin. She just did a lot of unprofessional and laughable things, not to mention being inarticulate. I know that many politicians do things worth being criticized and they should be, so Palin can't escape the media either, especially after criticizing Hilary for not taking what the media dished out. This video shows both sides of the story but most think Palin stepped down just because of media pressure:

I hope now that many states are at least either decriminalizing or legalizing dispensaries politicians will start to do something about it. So many jobs could be created on top of your mention of a crack down on drug cartels. Also, those kids in high school would have less of a time getting it because there would be extreme incentive to buy legally from a dispensary (where kids would likely be carded) and not from dealers.

Why do we need healthcare when we have such entertainment available to us on the issue? Beck inferring we are headed for communism, and the atlantic rigging up a chart that totally ignores public services and organizations the government runs: http://www.newsy.com/videos... That said, it strikes me that the real problem with the healthcare debate is that we are worried about money. This is one area where money shouldn't be that big of a deal, shouldn't protecting the health and wellbeing of its citizens be the government's main job? We go into deficit for everything else, what's the big deal with spending more for a good program?

Bailing out California would just encourage every state to make the same request. A state is a way different ballgame than bailing out one company.

Of course cutting social programs isn't going to benefit because it will essentially create a class warfare where the poor will just get poorer and they won't be able to get off the streets. If taxes increase it should be luxury tax. Or the legalization of marijuana.

Hard to say what is going on in Iran, but there was definitely some fraud. Question is, did it make a difference? And even if it did, the current crackdown shows that no matter what the numbers show the current government seems content to deny the people their say. The twitter news is interesting, and although it is difficult to get a holistic picture from it reveals the power of the internet in opening up oppressive countries.
