I stood right next to my husband as he butchered my doe and I can state that the meat had a very good color to it.
This doe looked healthy, walked just fine, no bones showing and dropped straight down when I shot her. As Angela stated how many people know the origin of the animal that they are serving their family?

Re: Boddington: Irrational Antis Reserve Special Hate for Women

Thanks Angela for sharing your story. My husband and I got our first deer (one each) this season and loved it. There is more to hunting than just killing an animal, just as you wrote. Scouting, hours in a stand each day and finally killing my first doe. Then it took the two of us over 4 hours (first time) to cutting and packing the meat, not including the preliminary processing (gutting, skinning etc) the night before.
My husband and I were in the stand together and got to share the enjoyment of seeing: bald eagles, turkey vultures and a group of turkeys pass throught the field. It was the high point of our year.

Re: Kill the Right Bucks

But the only way to analyze age is by a jawbone or a tooth of an already dead deer. How to tell the age before the deer is dead would be the problem.

Re: Lurking Rhythmically: Monday Gunday Product Reviews - Ponies. My next hand gun will be a Glock and wearing trifocals this type of sight would be much easier to get use to.

Re: Top 10 Ultra-Compact Laser Systems For Your CCW Pistol

I have a Crimson Laser on my Taurus 709 Slim and I really like it. The only problem I have is locating an IWB holster to fit both the Taurus and the laser.

Re: A Leg Up: Judging Buck Age From Body Proportions

I found your article quite interesting. But I also noticed that you night photo was in color. Where the game camera I use, all the night photos are in black and white. So, why do you have color night photos?

Re: Two Important Ideas You Can Learn About Wildlife Photography From The Things You've Been Overlooking

Thanks for the great tips on shooting wildlife photography. I agree my arms did get tired when I shot a immature turkey vulture with a 75-300mm lens. Unfortunately, I could not fill the frame with the vulture. He/she was at the top of a dead tree and I was pretty close but did not want to scare him off. I took about 120 pictures (he kept changing positions, flew off and came back) and did get a few that are really nice.
This was at Rt. 66 State Park in Missouri

Re: P#12 Q7A: What Are Some Things I Can Do to Improve My Adventure and Action Photography?

That is very interesting, to isolate and illustrate a story. Never thought of action photography in those terms.
Thanks for a great interview.
