All this week, very weak connection. I am peaking at 10mbps, most of the time a fraction of that. Constantly having issues with pages not wanting to load, or getting dropped from zoom calls.

That's a completely different camera. I'd rather a lens for the camera I already have, especially if that lens is $70 vs a $500 camera. Apples and freaking oranges.

Does the mark 2 still have the 29 minute recording limit, or should I just keep looking at the Sony lineup? I don't do enough with video to justify a dedicated video camera, but the little bit I do will be definitely frustrated by that 29 minute limit.

USB-C really does last longer. My favorite are the Monoprice AtlasFlex cables, and they hold up really well. Bought some in January 2019, and had it as my bedside cable to charge my phone at night. I have tripped over it, stepped on it, etc so many times, and it only started having issues a couple weeks ago. Meanwhile I have destroyed so many micro-b cables in the same spot, with it almost always being the connector that gets bent, or the detent springs wearing out. Good cables, cheap ones, doesn't matter. It just is a crap design.

That is the big thing. Most of us have ebook readers. We aren't lacking devices to read with, so, we need to be given reasons to upgrade, and more of the same isn't a reason to upgrade.

The problem here, DC Universe isn't just about the shows. You totally neglect to mention the comic books available, which that alone I think makes it not justify the "epitome of a la carte" crack. There are tens of thousands of comics available, and for many DC Universe subscribers, is the main reason they pay for the service.

The light is the main power drain. If you don't use it, battery life improves greatly. I get 3-4 weeks without light, 1 week with light.

As far as microUSB goes, it is an awful connector that gets way too easily damaged. The cable side is what usually breaks first. The detent springs wear out too quickly. I have to replace micro cables three times faster than USB C. Why wouldn't people want to adopt a better connector?

Also, ereaders have hit a point where most people who want them have them, so they need a reason to upgrade. If I see a device with same size screen, no color, and still using the same annoying connector as the device I already own, why would I upgrade?

If you are just using the C connector with USB2, cost is negligible. They designed the connector to be able to be used on devices with USB 2, and it has USB2 specific pins. Most people would be happy with that.
