(Updated)

I can't help but fell a little disappointed with your statement that "LG Mobile simply wasn’t engaging with bloggers" - partly because your post seems to be about development opportunities, not blogging. But also because I'd like to think we're pretty engaging, in all senses!

As you know from working with us, we've had an official LG Blog since September 2007 (www.lgblog.co.uk) with active involvement in our peers' blogs as well as our own. We try to start conversations, offer events that are specific to bloggers, give bloggers the opportunity to review products and offer bloggers the opportunity to meet with LG staff - yourselves included.

In fact, you nominated us for the Best PR Campaign category in 2008's MIR awards for our efforts.

While we haven't spoken directly in a little while I would've hoped you'd know we're always happy to help and you should feel you can come to us with anything like this.

We always welcome constructive feedback or suggestions via the blog or on email, so please get in touch if there is something you'd like to discuss with us. We'll also gladly field questions or put you in touch with the correct contact at LG if need be.

Thanks, Helen

PS - LG have a developer's forum (http://developer.lgmobile.c... and while I realise this may not be as open as some, we feel it's definitely a step in the right direction

Re: Time: Did Bruno Get Twittered?

To follow on from Christopher.. I suppose also, because it's visual it can have more impact. If a friend complains about it in the pub but then a co-worker says they liked it you might find the strength of your friend's dislike may be dimmed by memory.. With Twitter it's all there in black and white. That's the difference for me, anyway!

I do agree that it's essentially word of mouth through a new tool, these opinions would still be aired regardless it's just the internet has given us all these new tools to get that WOM out there faster and further.

Re: Congestion Charge – Vote Yes

Nice use of a freeze event.

Whenever I see the videos from these things it makes me wonder whether it's selective editing or if I'm just really bad at standing still - I couldn't hold a pose and not blink for the full 2 minutes most of these last! Otherwise I'd take part in one - I like the idea of making people stop and think for a moment in a place that's normally so crowded and fast paced that there's no time to think.

Re: Fake Empire

Hiya,

interesting to see how this one has spread... It obviously caught a lot of people's imaginations! Just to make clear though we're not dropping Life's Good or anything as drastic as that - we've got more information on our own blog at: http://www.lgblog.co.uk/200...

Thanks :)

Re: Social Media Marketing – my presentation slides

Sounds like it's going to be a really good event, I'm jealous I won't be there now!

Re: PMOG – a work of genius

I think its a brilliant concept although I'm slightly surprised there hasn't been any outrage about tracking peoples movements online.. Maybe I'm just getting cynical..?

Re: Simply the most stunning use of slo-mo filming

I love slow-mo effects when they're well done. I really liked some of the ones we did with the viewty last year: http://uk.youtube.com/watch...

but I think this campaign is even more perfect because it does somehow remind you of that sense of tasting and feeling a refreshing drink. Hats off I say!

Re: Sleeveface – you WILL need to know about this

Where have I been? Sleevefacing had totally escaped my notice, thanks for bringing it to my attention!

Yet another search to add to my lunchbreak list! :)

Re: Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Sailor – which one are you?

I think most of us never stop dreaming completely (nor should we!) but I think those dreams or aspirations do change over time; due to age and changes in our surroundings and/or circumstances if nothing else. For instance, how many of us now do jobs that didn’t exist when we were children?!

Re: Microsoft’s most exciting innovation in years

As you say this is very innovative! The picture password software sounds ideal for anyone who has trouble with traditional passwords and PINs. I can’t help wondering if there could be complications with using your own images for this purpose though – resolution settings or image alteration might present problems.

I’d definitely like to know more though, I think it has real potential, not just for UMPCs!
