I'll wanna just stay up all night watching movies or up on the internet. And I am used to working midnights and afternoon shift. So it's hard for me to adjust to a day shift if not actually working on one and having to get up early. I just have always hated to get up early! This was quite interesting. But kinda stupid to have to cover your monitor with a blanket or sheet. Just shut the light off and forget it is there. I think it's OK to eat before bed cause feeling full can make you sleepy too. And also if you can't sleep take some benadryl like tablets, they will make you drowsy, and try to read or do something till you feel tired enough. Don't just lay there in bed. I guess you can always count sheep! ha ha ha!

Re: How to Fall Asleep and Stay Asleep

Iam at my witts end. I have had insomia for over 3 and a half years. My Dr. has tried several sleep meds and they work for awhile and then back to staying up til 4AM or sometimes10 AM before going to bed. I have tried staying up for days at a time and no go. I have to get at least 9 or ten hours of sleep because I have diabetes. Who can I reach out for help? Is it past due for a sleep lab or what?? It was like someone punched me in the stomach.I cried yelled and planned my funeral. It was out of the blue.My family was supportive and loving.Whatever I needed to do they let me. The best advice I can give is take it one day at a time. Don't think about what happened yesterday and don't look ahead.Deal with what you have to for that day. I had 6 treatments chemo and 37 radiation. July 2007,3 days before my sons wedding I was diagnosed again with breast, cancer. I completed Chemo Dec.12th. Second time around I had a mastectomy. My family and friends said WE did it before WE will do it again. You have to have the support from family special friends to keep you going. You need to keep moving. The difference between both times is the meds. It was easier this time around. Everyday progress is being made. And my hair grew back.

Re: Life-Saving Breast Cancer Facts

I know that breathing chemicals and high stress were the primary cause of my breast cancer. I used to paint in oils, spray chemicals in my yard and spray pesticides in my house. I was also under extreme stress due to an elderly parent's illness who's care entirely fell on me alone to manage day and night for 5 years with no vacation or breaks. I'd never taken any type of birthcontrol med.s and my mother never had any type of cancer. Since then I don't let anyone put me in a stressfull situation and I take the time to take care of me and I am cancer free for 8 years now.

Re: Life-Saving Breast Cancer Facts

I read in the RealAge book that bio-identical HRT is much less carcinogenic than the PREMPO variety.
